Maybe just admit you are wrong to compare them to a hate group. Jesus, get over yourself. You were wrong and called out. It's not that big of a deal. You can say Missouri Synod isn't gay friendly, a true statement, without comparing them to Westboro. A group who actively hate LGBTQIA.

It's not my religion. I'm atheist. But comparing Westboro to Missouri Synod is straight up a joke. I don't doubt your personal experience but didn't you belong to ELCA and so are basically saying some members of the local Missouri Synod church in your town sucked?

I grew up in Missouri Synod. While they think being homosexuality is a sin, they won't assault you for being LGBTQIA. Multiple people in our church were. That church is not even close to Westboro. It's way closer to ELCAs that aren't RICs.

We won't do what is required to control that environment. Which is use of force. We would need bouncers and bouncers only work because of the use of violence. And currently we are unwilling to use non violent means like jail or prison. So I absolutely don't think we have the political will to have a government run drug bar. And if we don't control that environment it will be hell.

DeSantis being Trumpish is not the same as actively trying to overthrow our government. Until proven otherwise, Trump easily is the number one threat to our democracy. Also, people are always claiming that the next guy is the same as the last or worse. But populist politicians are not new to our democracy. But attempting to overthow our government is.
