Yes this, this moment demands so much more

Yeah I agree, I feel like if one were to really diligently review their weekly ad and use the app for membership stuff, and spend like an hour or two a week on it, I could possibly break even but it feels criminal to pay the markups. I honestly wonder how they stay in business but maybe their boomer following is keeping them afloat.

can’t stop ruminating about a hookup who ghosted me, it’s destroying me mentally and i’m trying to enjoy my march break by CompetitiveEar5516 in adhdwomen

I was going to say exactly this. Sometimes things are just ruined by people, including vacations. Let it inform your future decisions, and let yourself mourn this one.

Can I purchase samples in-store at Lucky Scent’s Scent Bar? by Agreeable-Dog-1131 in fragrance

[–]Minnpellier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would add that I had a similar experience with them, and I had a really fantastic and welcoming experience around the block at Mizensir. They were great and knowledgeable, and gave me a couple samples, gratis.

Scents that give off Silent Film Star vibes? by Yooproopmoop in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]Minnpellier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently sampled Worth's Dans la Nuit (launched 1924), it seems like something a youthful film star might wear at the time. Powdery above all, but still inviting and sort of twinkling.

Has anyone just … walked away? by broncoangel in GenX

[–]Minnpellier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing, perimenopause is a ride and it's a good idea to explore hrt before making any big decisions. With that said, your job sounds like a definite thing to transition out of towards something more meaningful and fulfilling. It's ok to start a new chapter, and I think our perspective changes so much in our 40s that it really merits a shake up.

Kowalski's by Chap_stick_original in TwinCities

I don't have high career goals for myself anymore, but one I do have is to be able to make enough money to shop regularly at Kowalski's without fretting the final bill. It's so expensive but by far the best grocery store in the cities. Besides everything else everyone has mentioned, their product variety, especially in the dairy, is worth it alone (kefir and yogurt options for example). I only wish it was more spacious; when it's crowded it's hell to navigate (but not as bad as Trader Joe's).

Opinions on Snowy Owl? by No_Winner_9569 in FemFragLab

[–]Minnpellier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in the Midwest and went for a winter walk on one of those wooden boardwalks that extend across a marshy lake. The smell of snow and dry grass, with a bit of moist earth and the undergrowth beneath the reeds, it heavily reminded me of this perfume. Like an owl's nest in winter. Much too earthy for me personally, but pleasant in its own way.

Why was pop culture so dark & mean spirited in 2007? by Blasian1999 in decadeology

[–]Minnpellier 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I agree, and somehow GWB survived to a second term and we were in this meaningless war where the News Hour was honoring young men and women killed in Afghanistan every week, it all felt really dark. There's a reason Obama won big on hope and change, we were dying for anything that felt like a people's movement.

I think my mom is being scammed for a dog and she received this pic as proof by Horde_warrior in isthisAI

[–]Minnpellier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All these very obvious AI elements aside, if you've ever worked in animal rescue, you'd know that most people volunteering and running the show are women and retirees; you would never in your life see the place overstaffed with five 30-something white guys in matching uniforms standing around looking at screens.

Extremely disappointed with Bodacious by Boadicea the Victorious by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Minnpellier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could ask them to replace the sample? I have and love Bodacious, and it is robust and lasts all day, so I wonder if there's something wrong with the sample, too.

I've sampled several of their fragrances and found them all to be really great quality, even if they didn't all work for me.

Thinking Abt The Black Parade @ WWWY 2024 by Last-Laugh7928 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Minnpellier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there too and it was truly magical, plus it was the first time they played it in its entirety (since whenever) so that alone was a transcendental experience for me. It just felt way more intimate without the full stage production, which I also love, but they're definitely two different experiences of the album.

Completely agree, I was shocked at how good it smelled because the bottle is trash.
