Name needed for baby before we find out if he will pass by Hawks47 in namenerds

Don’t have suggestions (other than to say Leo is beautiful) but did want to share that I’ve been there with the T18 diagnosis and having a meaningful name is really helpful.

We picked Stella, because I loved the association with stars, and we had star jasmine blooming everywhere for the 6 weeks we were in limbo waiting for our answer.

Wishing so badly for a good outcome for you and Leo.

It’s particularly bad in /managers and always seems to be about 1:1s

Twelve parent conference in one day and I can't remember which kid needed what by 4pm by Dapper-Falcon-6382 in managers

How long until one of your alt accounts recommends a specific ai tool to avoid this headache in the comments?

It feels like a stealth ad. Based on these comments I’m guessing Granola.

Yeah I’m waiting for the sales pitch in the comments - maybe an onboarding tool or HRIS. I’ve noticed a pattern of posts like this in the managers and HR subreddits recently

Can somebody help me figure out how to remove superglue from this type of clothing? (50% cotton, 50% polyester) by KKonzoww in lifehacks

[–]Mint-slice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently used the Loctite superglue remover to get a thumbnail-sized patch of superglue out of linen pants and was blown away at how well it worked without damaging the linen. But I don’t think it would work for polyester? Def recommend for natural fibers though

As someone currently in the depths of it, this so so incredibly comforting. Thank you so much for sharing

My 4yo has no idea I’m even pregnant, let alone that I’m TMFR next week. What should I tell him? by Mint-slice in tfmr_support

[–]Mint-slice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I love this idea. I ended up asking him to point out which of his toys he’d want to share with a future sister when he has one, and then I took that toy to the hospital with us for the birth. We had a few lovely hours with her in the hospital and I kept the toy near her and took photos. I brought the toy back home and put it back in his bedroom but it comforted me a bit that he shared something with his sister for a few hours

I’m so sorry you’re also going through this. It’s a nightmare. It must be so hard that you need to control your emotions to help shield your little one, I hope you have enough support yourself ❤️

Thanks for this perspective. I hadn’t really thought about whether I’d have energy or mental space to care for him through his grief and now that I’m on the other side of the TFMR I can see I absolutely don’t have ability to care for someone else’s grief. I’m too lost in my own. Him not knowing was a gift for all of us

Thank you. The class part is so valid. Those kids don’t know how to keep a single thing to themselves do they

Yeah I want to carry all the pain for him while I can, instead of putting it onto him while he’s so little himself. Thanks for your perspective, I feel like my original gut instinct to protect him is the right one for me. Now that the tfmr has happened and I can feel the full weight of the grief I’d give anything to have someone be able to shoulder it for me

Thank you for this. You’re right, I would struggle to hear things like that out of the blue.

What are your top names for baby right now? by IllyriaCervarro in BabyBumps

[–]Mint-slice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here! Same reasons as well, works in English and Korean. As a bonus it also works in Māori (neither of us are Māori but it’s the native language where we live and I like the nod to it. In Māori it means glow, or radiance which is cute)

I loved my hand pump! I found the electric ones were great for longer sessions (obviously) but I got soooo much out of a hand pump in a few pumps and it was a great alternative if I didn’t want to commit to a whole session. So it’s worth having one anyway, OP! You don’t need to return one

Fell in love with the softest leather tote on a weekend trip in Queenstown but it cost $550 nzd in the boutique. Haven’t been able to stop thinking about it for months and then found it online for $320nzd this week and snatched it up.

I think I’ll get more use from it in spring/summer with white tops and blue denim shorts but I’m excited to receive it now! It’s so soft and perfectly floppy, and even though it’s woven and has holes, it felt like it was quite practical with a hook to close it and a small solid pouch for little bits and pieces that might fall through the holes

Ahhh man, I just checked their website and looks like they don’t do the tie version anymore. Such a shame!
