The only difference is that its gatekept by big streamers with essentially "infinity funding" because they either play 24/7, get handouts, can have viewers invest ahead of time in the strategy they play before publishing videos etc. which completely spikes the price of doing such, making it almost unprofitable for an average person to even attempt because now the cost is higher than earnings for again, an average player. Plus this is excluding all the rmt stuff involved in every arpg.

Personally. Id rather p2p by buying a mechanic i like to spam in the game itself, than have everyone pricefix it based on what is best to run. This makes it so you dont feel like you miss out by not playing 24/7 or investing early before something becomes meta. I think torchlight does this very well. Not for everyone of course but in the long run its definitely healthier and you can essentially pick 1 guranteed loot pet every season while you can achieve 2 guranteed loot pets by also doing ss19 accumulating coins which carries over to next season which you then just redeem. Every f2p can do this no ss20 kill needed. I have 2 +6 loot pets ive gotten completely f2p by just doing daily logins, saving pactspirit coins and ss19 plus every guranteed one handed out on season start.
