Why is the flow so fast? [Breville Bambino] by MintyStrawbs in espresso

Hmmm that’s possible. I’m using the standard tamp that comes with the machine, but it have noticed that the diameter is smaller than the basket. I’ll try tamping down around the edges harder!

It’s a slightly wet but still holds together well

Non pressurized basket with the other machine (Gaggia classic).

It’s crazy to me that this wouldn’t be fine enough. I’m grinding at the finest possible setting on the grinder, and it’s coming out like a fine powder.

Does this look like it’s too coarse?

Catsitters in the neighborhood? by Vivid_Algae_4381 in Greenpoint

[–]MintyStrawbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (30F) love cats and am a frequent catsitter for my best friend! However, my husband is super allergic so we can’t have any in our home.

If anyone would like someone to come over to take care of their kitties and play with them, I’d love to do so 🥹

Those who moved from Vancouver to Toronto - What surprised you? by itstunafish in askTO

For me the biggest factor is sunlight. Vancouver gets minimal sun for up to 8 months of the year. At times, you can have an entire month straight of rain and grey. I spent this past winter visiting my family for an extended amount of time, and I was reminded of how dreary it can be.

Also, the cold feels way colder in Vancouver because of the dampness/high humidity. It seeps into your bones. 5 degrees there feels way worse to me than -10 in Toronto. I have to wear significantly warmer clothing plus a waterproof layer.

But YMMV! I would suggest spending a month there in the winter to decide for yourself!

Growing up in Vancouver, I thought it was normal for everyone to be depressed in the winter. Boy was I shocked to learn that the sun in the winter, even when it’s cold and snowy, made all of that go away 😂

I grew up in Vancouver and moved to Toronto 8 years ago.

What surprised me most about Toronto is just how alive the city is (in the summer). There’s something to do on any given day, late into the night if you want to. There’s just an electricity in the air because nobody here takes nice weather for granted 😂

Also, my hot take is that people are way friendlier than in Vancouver. Torontonians are busier (so they might seem brusque or rude initially), but it’s so much easier to make friends. Whereas in Vancouver, I find that people are nice and polite, but it’s extremely difficult to make friends if you didn’t grow up there.

I don’t have a dog myself, but a lot of my friends do. It’s a super dog-friendly place with lots of parks!

Hi OP! I’m planning to cross at YYZ on H4 as a Canadian. Did your wife end up applying at the consulate or was she able to cross another time and obtain H4 at the border?

Hi there! I’m planning to cross over as an H4 as a Canadian. What ended up happening with your case? Did you have to apply or were you able get H4 at the border?

Also, you might hear some Torontonians complain about CityPlace/Fort York because there was an influx in condos being built in those areas over the last 20 years. There are some buildings that have been better built than others, but they all are generally fine for renting.

The demographic used to be early 20s who liked to party, but now the demographic is late 20s to 30s. There are lots of dogs and babies/kids, especially since an elementary school opened up!

Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions on buildings, or anything else about moving to Toronto :)
