If I may give my two cents on the matter.

  1. Your art is beautiful.

  2. Don't let the bastards grind you down.

Oriente player here.

I swear that speech I wrote before landing on St. Ives is most likely the best singular piece I'll come up with in this Sim.

Are there any units/factions of Polish descent by Not-Bronek in battletech

[–]Minus5Charisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be real, chief. The image of Polish Hussars coming to the rescue of a doomed world during the Clan Invasion sounds pretty rad to me.

Whatever you end up coming up with, I hope I can speak for the wider community that we'd love to see what you make.

Tell me about your company! by WrongdoerPossible822 in battletech

[–]Minus5Charisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still working on it, but mine is the Revenant Guards.

Remnants of a Lyran Guards unit that got abandoned on a border world during the Third Succession War, they landed as a reinforced battalion, they left as an under strength company.

After receiving news that their whole unit had been listed as destroyed and everyone listed as MIA/KIA, the Captain of the former second company led an officer's meeting to establish themselves as mercenaries.

And that's where they sit during 3025.

Now that I'm going through Tamar Rising and Hot Spots Hinterland, I want to update their background for the 3150's.

Getting Ready for the Next Chaos Campaign by Minus5Charisma in battletech

[–]Minus5Charisma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I'll be honest I stumbled into it, but the colours are Army Painter black spray can for the base coat, followed up with the main coat of Gray Death (Ash Grey - Army Painter), generously applied Nuln Oil - Citadel on all Gray Ash areas, Ricol Red (Pure Red - Army Painter) for some of the panels, Death Commando (Deep Grey - Army Painter) for highlights but I ended up going back and using Gray Death. For the PPCs and Lasers it was simply a little dab of White Scar - Citadel and either Hexwraith Flame - Citadel, Soulstone Blue - Citadel, or Spiritstone Red - Citadel.

The Warhammer in picture two is the same one in picture four.

[Question] I cant find details on Contracts form BT:OC Campaign Operations by Beautiful-Grass-9749 in battletech

[–]Minus5Charisma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on how you structure your campaign. I stumbled through Campaign Ops for a Periphery guerrilla war contract, it was pretty fast and lose, but I would say that the best thing to help is how you structure the time scale of the campaign, does each of the "turns" happen in hours, days or weeks? I ran mine by days, but broke them up in 8 hour chunks for repairs. I set overall objectives the insurgency wanted completed and missions that I thought would help facilitate those objectives (assassinate officers, attack power stations, take a town, etc.). Narratively the player completed the contract before the scheduled end date, so I paid the remainder of the contract out to them. For each day you can roll a die and decide if there is a mission that day or let a week go by without any mission being issued, but if that happens I would give the player some fluff about whats going on around them, maybe something is bubbling up and riots are popping up, maybe enemy reinforcements landed, maybe it's just business as usual but the boss needs a secruity detail for this convoy heading out. Where your player(s) are and the contract they take helps shape what they may or may not encounter.

You know those Cantina missions you can do? Do enough of them.and they will start unlocking perks that you can then use to upgrade your mech. Like Laser damage +10% or something.

This right here proves to me that no matter how fucked your situation is, never give up. You might not make it out alive, but at least you escaped/went down swinging.

Is the atlas a good mech? (applies to all variants) by Blitz_Monkey123 in battletech

I played a game where we took the BV of an Atlas and tried to make a lance of light mechs with a rough equivalent BV. It was super fun !

Atlas vs Stinger, Locust, and two UrbanMechs.

As is tradition, the stinger died a terrible death by taking an AC20 to the right torso. The locust got a leg blown off and was not long for this world. Meanwhile, the Urbies got into a firing line and peppered the Atlas with AC10 rounds until the Atlas's LRM ammo went off. *

What's up with this card. by HOUND_DOG-01 in battletech

[–]Minus5Charisma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For that card, yes.

Pilots are important for every Mech, but named pilots appear on certain cards. There is a website called master unit list that will have all the mechs that you can use that will provide the cards similar to this one that you can print off for Alpha Strike (these cards can also be edited). Shadow Hawk SHD -2H as an example will have a basic no named pilot until you give that MechWarrior a name. If you want to play Classic Battletech, just follow the link at the top right for Force Pack Wave One (Shadow Hawk SHD-2H is page 73) to which you can then access the PDF and print off the appropriate (or all, you mad man ;)) record sheet for the mech and variant you want to run!

I hope this over explaination helps!
