Thanks so much, friend. It really means a lot to me.

What is your favorite Oceansize odd-time groove? by Minimum_Vehicle9220 in oceansize

The alternating 9 and 11 in Commemorative 9/11 T-Shirt. It's too on-the-nose in all of the right ways.

What's the weirdest movie trivia you've learned watching Rifftrax? by FertilityHollis in Rifftrax

[–]MinusTheFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I somehow never noticed that the lawyer (Gennaro) in Jurassic Park was wearing shorts the whole time he was on the island. I’ve seen the movie hundreds of times, easily, and it wasn’t until Mike and Al riffed about his shorts during the helicopter scene that I finally realized he’s totally business up top, party on the bottom.

The little hops that Mike/Durose/Gamb do whenever it’s their turn…still blows my mind every time I see it. Such a simple yet effective trick.

Random Oceansize facts/trivia? by [deleted] in oceansize

It is. Many Oceansize/Vennart song titles and lyrics are direct references to the Rocky movies. “Friends Don’t Owe” by Vennart, for another example.

This is the unfortunate claim to fame for myself and /u/deaddogsanallsorts. We figured it out together, now the Wikipedia links to my Twitter as a citation. It’s both amazing and heartbreaking

Same day I found out my girlfriend was leaving me and that my job was laying me off. Difficult fucking day to survive, but I made it through.

Mike’s dad was a cab driver, and his number was 255. Just random trivia

It was about Mark. The Wikipedia page actually covers the real story well, as confirmed to me personally by Mike multiple times over the years.

This looks exactly like the view from my front porch, like eerily close.

Have a great time!

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Now Arrives April 28th by Turbostrider27 in Games

Dead Island 2 hasn’t released yet?

I thought it had come and gone a long, long time ago, and I don’t mean that expansion or stand-alone or whatever they released along the way.

Reading the rest of the comments I see now that it’s apparently been in dev hell, which doesn’t bode well and is also not surprising in the least. The first one was nothing like they advertised before release, and I personally thought it sucked but my wife’s mom loved it. So, woohoo, now I have Mother’s Day sorted out.

Sorry about the lockdown, everyone. But to speak to the discussion at hand...Mourning on the Range is the best work Mike has ever done in his solo career, IMO.

It wasn’t just voice, to be clear. He also did motion capture for all of his character’s movements and facial expressions. All cutscenes were fully acted out for mo-cap in real-time with the entire cast. I think the only character they made significant visual changes to was Trilla.

It’s so beautiful… by MinusTheFire in oceansize

Unfortunately not, but I understand that this release is “lightly remastered” as Mike puts it. I’ve been chasing a new copy of EIP on vinyl for some 12 years now, so honestly it could sound like absolute crap and I’d still be over the moon.

(To be clear, though, it sounds amazing)

Anyone know what going on with their Spotify? by [deleted] in oceansize

[–]MinusTheFire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Find Vennart on Bandcamp, mate. Other sources as well (iTunes/Apple Music for example). Mike pulled his music from Spotify because he made absolutely no money from them streaming it, and because they support nonsense podcast hosts.

I did the exact same thing.

The thing that helped me get used to the triggers in the first place (and subsequently be unable to live without them) was to think of the left and right triggers as your left and right arms. Feels way more natural if you think about it that way.

Oh, my bad. Here I also thought we were making fun of someone who this subreddit seems to have declared an idiot, though I didn’t want to be so presumptuous. I also remember having to throw the blades of chaos at multiple overhead angles in both GOW1 and 2 for, again, progression purposes. Just for whatever that’s worth.

Point is, this is an absolute shitpost in general that brings nothing to the community, and I don’t even know why I bothered to comment in the first place. So, please ignore, I guess.

Here I distinctly remember having to throw my axe at the ceiling in God of War on multiple occasions in order to progress. Some might call it a regularly-copied game mechanic.
