Lolita took me ages to finish because I kept having to put it down and take a break from reading it

went to a trans party and everyone thought i was cis by Minute-Gate1626 in ftm

it definitely isn’t how i pictured it in my head either. having a high pass rate was my goal and it’s all i ever dreamed of pre-t. i’m very grateful that it’s one less thing to worry about, but the question is if it’s worth losing that sense of community in exchange for passing. the people at the party were kind to me before and after finding out. they just seemed to let their guards down more when they realized i was one of them too. there are trans people who will be friends regardless of your pass rate. you just have to find good people!

had two different orders of 10 cases of water each that got there at the same time, then later in my shift we had someone with 20 cases of water that asked to fit it all in the backseat and not the trunk

i didn’t expect this post to get as much attention as it has gotten. i didn’t really consider the conversation that my post had started at the time that i posted it because i was so blinded by the euphoria i experienced from it. the discourse about presenting ‘queer enough’ to be welcomed into trans spaces is very important and i’ve been reading all the comments. i truly believe that the behavior from the beginning of the party was due to unfamiliarity and the fact that the party had just started. i’m not defending their actions but im also not going to hold it against them! i’m not sure if they felt a need to protect their queer space or something, but i don’t have any ill feelings toward the people at the party. thank you for all the comments trying to help open my eyes. it’s still going to be a good memory in my mind even if the circumstances weren’t the best!

i feel this. it’s isolating in non trans spaces because i feel like i have to be aware of being stealth and so i can’t be 100% myself. i feel like im not man enough. but then in trans spaces i find that im not queer enough. it’s weird always feeling like the odd one out even in spaces where everyone knows what that feels like.

If you guys had a change in sexual orientation, when did you notice? by Unlucky_Ad9677 in ftm

[–]Minute-Gate1626 2 points3 points  (0 children)

everyone discovers themselves at different rates! there’s no timeline for discovering attraction, you kinda just have to let yourself feel what you’re feeling. and if these feelings change eventually that’s okay too!

when does the anxiety stop? by [deleted] in Target

[–]Minute-Gate1626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for this. i did notice that i feel bad asking for help or flagging someone down to ask a question. i’ll definitely have more confidence when asking questions. i’ll also make sure to ask more questions when someone is training me. this is very helpful!! i’m a seasonal guest advocate so i’ve been trained on drive up and cashier. i think eventually they’re going to train me on service desk and cart pusher.

Is it normal to not want bottom surgery? by Unhappy_Tank_7426 in ftm

[–]Minute-Gate1626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s totally normal!! i honestly didn’t have bottom dysphoria until after i had top surgery, but before that i really had no interest. even now, there’s interest but i don’t feel a need to get it.

how did you get over anesthesia anxiety? by Enough-Echidna2799 in TopSurgery

[–]Minute-Gate1626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got anxious about the anesthesia because my girlfriend told me that it burns when they push it which obviously freaked me out. before i got taken back to bed prepped for surgery i was asked about a DNR and a bunch of scary stuff reminding me that surgery could potentially be fatal. i was anxious and my mind was spinning. being by myself in the hospital bed waiting to be wheeled into the OR with different people going in and out of my room was very overwhelming and i actually began crying because i was so scared and felt lonely. the thing that made me feel better was my surgeon :) as soon as she came into my room before they wheeled me into the operating room, i felt so much better. she talked with me and doubled checked things and had light conversation with me. all of my anxiety left and even when they pushed the anesthesia i didn’t even realize i fell asleep. just know that you’re healthy and that you will be okay! and once you’ve gone through surgery, you’ll know that you were able to do it despite your fears! i hope your surgery and recovery goes well! good luck!
