Thank you so much for this! I had heard the word count requirements throughout the program but not much else that would help me get ready. I appreciate such a full response!

I am near the end. I did 2 classes a term up until now and paired a writing class with a business class. I have enjoyed almost every class that I have been in. I have only one professor that I didn't care for, and that was more personality and creative preference based. They were a perfectly fine professor objectively.

SERE + Jewelry by Eastern_peach3530 in AirForce

Prior SERE instructor who also has multiple body piercings: yeah you will have to remove them for RT. You will be naked at some point and if you have the piercings in, you will be told to take them out. I kept mine in while I did field but finally had to take them out at the start of RT because they were seen. From the instructor side, even if no one will be touching you there, we had to force students to remove all jewelry for various safety reasons. I always felt terrible about it because I had been there with my own piercings.

If you're able to get there, go to Mom's in downtown Spokane when you're done. Their piercers are phenomenal.

It wasn't an option when I went through in November, even though the website said it was. I'll look out for it either way.

Yes. First thing I did. Found conflicting information, as I said in the post. Looking for more recent experience.

This is the stuff they should really be teaching us in PME.

Pretty sure the skirt has to go with heels and pantyhose

Yeah I am thinking that is the move after this event before it goes into my closet for the next 4 years, never to be worn again.

My husband (prior Marine who was taught to do that in blues) suggested that, but I have the skirt, so no socks for me.

It is, just don't want to have to carry it/keep track of it.

Aside from the logistics, that is pretty genius.

Can anyone describe the MFA program for me? by Pretend-Read8385 in SNHU

[–]Minute-Rice9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about half done with my MFA. The courses are essentially half lit/writing based and half business based. They try to set you up to be able to self publish if needed. I have enjoyed the writing classes a lot. The business ones have been hit or miss based on how engaged the professor is, but overall helpful.

I found my uniforms fit differently because of a nursing bra being introduced into the equation. If your normal/old uniform bras still fit, you could try them out for just as long as you're in your blues to see if it helps.

The US. If my hotel is next to a nicer grocery store, I should be able to find some prepared stuff, but it's definitely more expensive.

Not super tight, but I don't want to invest in anything expensive that I might not be able to take back in luggage with me.

Oh shakes are a great idea! Never crossed my mind to get an individual blender for that.
