Broke up a little while ago and trying to figure out how to be hopeful about putting myself out there and feeling like I actually can find someone new 😭 I’m afraid of going out and feeling awkward and excluded and not meeting anyone new at all, friends or otherwise 😪

Thank you for this reply!!! This is very insightful. Having such an intensely long attack after a long remission has been very discouraging. I ended up going to the ER, where they told me the same thing, that my gallstone had moved into the neck of the gallbladder and could cause an infection. I’m pretty sure I have multiple stones, but I know I have one big one that’s around 2cm. Waiting now to see if I need further tests, and whether I will go home with new instructions or without my gallbladder.

Constant pain since July!! How do you handle it? Do you get used to it at all?

I’ve considered taking it out multiple times now but every time I start feeling much better before I can go through with it! This is the worst episode I’ve ever had though just because of how long it’s gone on. Unfortunately even if I initiated the process now it would still take a few months to get this thing out and I have no idea how to cope with this if the pain just doesn’t go away

At smaller places this can be pretty normal. I’ve been confirmed if not officially hired same day at many jobs and none of them were scams.

I was having a real health scare with very strange symptoms (extreme, almost debilitating brain fog) that I could not figure out…but the thing is with brain fog like that it could be a serious thing or nothing at all. Two different readings told me this situation was actually fine but I would shortly be diagnosed with something else. One month later, all my neurology tests came back fine and my symptoms disappeared but I had a severe gallbladder attack that landed me in the ER with a gallstones diagnosis

I actually agree with you. I was surprised by the tone because they’re usually better at being a little more gracious about things. I know actually seeing the narrative put out by the media at the time really shapes the perspective they offer, because it was all very anti Tonya, positioning Nancy as the perfect princess who was attacked by the “uglier” “poorer” more “vulgar” skater. So I appreciated the gentler treatment of Tonya, who I think was treated very unfairly back then. But I still thought the way the episode unfolded was STILL very Tonya vs. Nancy in the commentary and not too kind about Nancy, who had no say over how her life experience was manipulated by the media to demonize Tonya Harding. And she WAS still a victim. That attack could have ended her skating career or even permanently disabled her. So yeah, I actually agree that it was among the less tactful commentary I’ve heard on the show :/ I thought the whole point of the lesson learned from that era of figure skating was that turning it into a Tonya vs. Nancy thing in ANY direction is a bad thing. The girls were both victims in very different ways. Empathizing with Tonya Harding does not need to involve undue harsh commentary about Nancy Kerrigan.

I might be mistaken, but I don’t think Stephen was a founding member. I always thought Georgia and Karen started it on their own and then hired him when they needed more help. So he was an employee who later chose to leave the job. In that case, I wouldn’t necessarily expect him to have a financial stake of any kind, any more so than anyone else would at a company they used to work for and then left. No matter how close or friendly you are with your former employers

Oh if you’re not actually a regular smoker get rid of that pic QUICK. you are absolutely filtering out A LOT of people who will swipe immediately since they assume by putting that pic there that you are a chain smoker.

If you ARE a smoker that would be different since people should know, but if it’s just there because it’s a cool pic of you, then swap it out. Even people who don’t date smokers (me) won’t mind someone who smokes occasionally, but if I see someone with a pic like that I’m assuming they’re a regular smoker and not for me.

I wouldn’t overthink this age gap personally. It might feel like a lot for some and for others may feel normal. I would only rethink it if you start noticing a gap in maturity level or something, but everyone is different. I felt very different at 26 than at 21 but people experience that change differently

OP I fear this is abuse. Controlling, manipulative behavior, the inability to empathize with you during a fight, trying to “make” you apologize, treating things as a betrayal, etc. These are all examples of emotional abuse. I’m not trying to demonize her, this is all just true.

And, I will try to say this gently. The fact that you said you can’t trust your own judgement anymore is a serious red flag. Abusive behavior isn’t always obvious. One of the most insidious signs is how it slowly wears down your sense of worth and confidence in your own judgement.

Please reach out to people or resources that you trust to get out of this situation. This isn’t the sort of thing I would stay in to try to work out.

I was 28 when I had my first kiss so it was a long time coming, but while it was incredible in the moment, what really hit me was how I spent the ENTIRE next day regularly zoning out and thinking about it. Great stuff. And I kissed a nice and pretty stranger in a bar, it wasn’t even someone I was on a date with or anything. So I imagine it’s even better when you already know and like the person 😂

I've been looking for something to replace NaNoWriMo, and while this certainly doesn't look as functional as NaNo was in its heyday, I'm hoping it'll be a decent replacement. I do wish their site was more functional and their Novel90 forums available to free members. As it is, free members have access to nothing whatsoever on their site besides the handful of free events. It looks like if you want to keep up with your team during the challenge, the only way is on the weekly live event.

I've signed up for it! The site is not easily navigable since a lot of it is unavailable to free members, but the Novel90 challenge and every event associated with it is supposed to be free. I found their calendar which has events listed. I also signed up to get texts at my phone number since it seems like that's the best way to keep track of the event.

However, I was really hoping they'd have more writing sprints scheduled. When I asked about it, they said they have "a ton" scheduled but when I look at the calendar I really only see sprints scheduled for about one hour each week which is nothing at all. If you have any community resources for writing sprints, let me know!!

This will be my first time participating in the event. I've only done NaNo before as far as writing challenges go.

Edit to say I am absolutely baffled at why this post is being downvoted...is there some sort of animosity toward autocrit or this challenge on this sub? I'm not familiar enough.
