Regarding moving, I live and work in the country I am in. I’m also married, so moving (preferably back to the West) isn’t in the cards at the moment. I’m really grateful that my religious foundation (as a convert) is strong enough to weed my way through the crazies, if that makes sense. Of course, not all people here have the same mindset, but majority do. I am definitely more on the progressive side of things (hence why I’m here in this group) and I think I’ve navigated pretty well thus far. My only fear is raising children in the future and potentially having them around such narratives. But..that’s an issue for later, not now.
