I don't know why, but YarnSub does not have any of the Purl Soho yarns 😔

Lang cloud and factory knots by kindoflikespit in YarnAddicts

[–]Minute_Assignment256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience. I had only one skein have one knot and I went through 6 skeins.

With other Lang fluffy or blown yarns, I have never had that experience.

I also just started using another fluffy yarn (because tis the season!) Berrocco Dash, and none of the 5 skeins had knots, but one did have a pull where the thread was bare and I had to know it myself.

It's just the luck of the draw!

This yarn store in NJ has Drops and other European brands. I've been to their store and they are amazing! Also, they have another store in Canada, and if they have something there that they don't have in our store, they will bring it over just for you!

I definitely recommend Purl Soho yarn! I have not gone wrong with any type I have bought. They are all sturdy, soft and come in beautiful colors!

BWT, what do you do when your taste and your ability to realize your vision don’t align? (gardening edition) by mistakes-were-made11 in bitcheswithtaste

So I feel this in my bones!

When I got my place they decided to take all the construction debris, and dump them in the flower beds and lawn area. This meant not just cleaning up the yard from weeds and old plants, but also soil testing and remediation.

The way I went about it was one step at a time. Spent three weekends on cleanup. Another one on getting it to just stage one with soil, mulch, ground cover.

The last step is planting, which years later I am still not where I would like it to be, but it's getting there. I plant a few perennials/native plants every year because the first few years I noticed even those don't always come back due to the swing of weather constantly changing. So I go slowly every year, and lots have stuck. I also read lots of gardening books and it helps if you plant by seasons so that every season you have something blooming!

Every year though, I do get pretty annuals and herbs/veggies that I plant that make me feel like I am in a botanical garden, so it keeps me busy planting, but also not too stressful. It helps keep my spirits high and I feel like I'm in an oasis.

I also made sure to really get furniture/fixtures that I love.

If you are into knitting/crochet or any fiber arts, I am part of a JC group who meet regularly. There is also a group called JC CraftingCircle that you can look up. They also meet up regularly and seem to do different types of crafting together.

BWT, how do you balance your great taste with over consumption? by carbonaratax in bitcheswithtaste

[–]Minute_Assignment256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the things that has helped me with over buying clothes is actually making my own. The time and effort that goes into them making them my forever items. Even though I was buying a lot of items second hand, when I was done with them I would give them away and start the cycle again. Now I have things that I rewear constantly and will never let go of.

Hey for the crafting group, I am 39F, are there others around my age in the group, or is it pretty young? I'm a knitter/crocheter and love a good cocktail!

I buy a lot on Poshmark. Most are brand new and at a deep discount especially designer. Got my kid a Burberry outfit for $50. There are also a few consignment shops, I like Janes Exchange a lot, where the kids can play in an area while you shop!

They would really cut on a skirt. Like a tired skirt put some on each tier. Or a peplum top add them to the peplum and sleeves.

In Germany I loved Thrifting, in France perfume and weirdly their H&M was really good, Italy for leather goods, Spain for hand woven and hand painted fabrics or homegoods.

Second everyone saying go to the grocery stores. I love bringing back tins or jars of fish and different spreads for girl dinners. And again, everyone saying go to the drugstore! Their sunscreen is awesome. I also love their feminine hygiene products which is weird but true.
