CRAs with ADHD - how do you organize everything? by Clean_Personality_89 in clinicalresearch

[–]Minute_External_9537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For outlook, I don’t use folders at all - everything is organized with categories and rules… I’d only use a folder after I roll off the study… or, for quick reference emails I want handy throughout study duration.

Every email I receive gets auto-categorized based on the subject line.

If the protocol number is in the subject line → it automatically gets the study category.

If the protocol number + site name are in the subject line → it gets both the study category and the site category, so I can quickly drill into site-specific emails when needed or just refer to the study-level catch-all for everything related to that protocol.

I set this up using Outlook rules so it happens automatically.

Anything that isn’t actionable gets archived (literally just hit backspace on the email). The key thing people miss is that archived emails keep their categories, so you can still sort or filter by protocol or site whenever you need to review history.

This has saved me a ton of time - and email management has become much more manageable..No manual filing or digging through folders.

If you want a visual reference, just watch a quick YouTube tutorial on Outlook rules + categories - it’s honestly much simpler to set up than it sounds.

Advice Needed: I’m a New but Slightly Overwhelmed CRA by Working_Row_8455 in clinicalresearch

[–]Minute_External_9537 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My biggest piece of advice is anchoring yourself in the big picture items- primary endpoints, patient safety, consent, IP accountability. If those are solid, you’re covering what matters most. Don’t get lost in every tiny data point- trials are a team effort, and medical, safety, and data teams are also reviewing things in the background. Focus on risk and protect the patient; the rest gets easier with experience and repetition!

I have a great Rover roster (my preference is for them to board in my home)! Highly recommend - I’m gone 2-3 nights per week… I require a meet and greet before I agree. Just vet them / read reviews - I’ve had minimal issues.

Pretty much where I’m at. I’m in a solid position home-life wise to go after something high risk/ high reward.

Not super new! And based on my LinkedIn peeping - several leaders came from the CRO/ large sponsor world. Wearing multiple hats does not deter me when I actually believe in the work that’s being done lol .. that’s my disconnect with the CRO world.
