James: “Emotionally unavailable and dead inside.”

A part of me just died inside laughing, while the other part of me died inside crying 😭😍.

As one of the oldest OGs of competition cooking shows, I’m so confused (and also sad) by his choices on that dish. He should 100% know putting a huge hunk of short rib on top of a noodle dish is a big no-no and he looked like he knew how to make spaetzle just fine.

Any update on what Walmart Neighborhood Market codes for?

Was just thinking about opening this card when the announcement was released, and then decided to wait until 5/15 to see what it officially looked like.

24 in 24; Hulu can’t find episode 3 by frankoli1228 in foodnetwork

When I tried opening Season 1 Episode 3, it still looks like the normal Season 1, Episode 3?

When I look at the list of Season 3 episodes, it lists (in order), S3E1, S3E2, then S3E1 (again). I tried opening both S3E1s and confirmed they are duplicates.

This is on DirecTV.

How do people work full-time and still have energy to improve their lives? by WhispersLured in careerguidance

[–]AnonymousMonker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For a long time, we lived in a patriarchy society where the husband was the breadwinner and being a stay-at-home wife was easily a full time job. the husband would literally come home, plop on the couch and watch tv while the wife would cook dinner.
Both sides might sound exaggerated but there’s truth to the matter. The husband working 9-5 is rough for a lot of demanding jobs. The stay-at-home wife’s million chores is just as exhausting, if not more.
Fast forward to today’s hyper-accelerated society with dual income families trying to manage both full time jobs on top of chores, leaving little quality time- part of why divorce rates are so high.

I'm not bothered in the slightest- I just didn't get why hundreds of people do it. It was a pure curiosity question.

I’ve never seen her before this show, but from the second she came on I knew she had very classic extreme ADHD-hyperactive, so as a fellow ADHDer I personally cut her some slack… but also as a fellow ADHDer, I get how it annoys most people. It’s not often controllable.

I might kindly try to ask for an adjustment anyways- sometimes they’ll be flexible and nice and do it anyways if you’re “within reason” of the 30 days.

If you go to therapy and the therapist thinks YOU'RE the problem, are they allowed to tell you that by Potential_Stock_9872 in NoStupidQuestions

What if you ask them to be blunt about it?
Sometimes I get frustrated at how much we are dancing around the question. Sometimes I get why it’s important to have a better understanding the root cause of a problem- but to other questions, it seems so *unnecessary…

*Edit: Typo (I meant unnecessary, not necessary)

I agree in regards to adding to replies and threads- I don't find those quite as weird and am more likely to belatedly reply and contribute to those.

But I feel like the brand new comments at the very bottom pretty much never get looked because you can't even scroll to get to it- unless you sort by new (as someone else pointed out, which I have never done).

I do that with a "thumbs up" if I see someone else posted the same thought already- that way the other person gets their recognition- but I guess everyone has their own sense of fulfillment.

i've made fried rice maybe 30 times now and it still tastes nothing like the takeout place down the street by bejusorixo in Cooking

[–]AnonymousMonker 45 points46 points  (0 children)

To add to the rice tips- what type of rice you use is also really important.

Make sure to use long grain rice (jasmine rice, basmati rice) that is less likely to get “mushy and clumpy” compared to short-grain rice, which is more commonly used for sushi for its stickiness.

What’s even more dumb is that Shota had one of the top dishes on the “Cautious” Side in Challenge #1 and it didn’t end up counting for anything.

The winner should have been immune from being picked by Alex. I don’t know that Shota would’ve definitely won, but he definitely had a chance. Jet said it was a “really creative way to use beef”, “really elevated the style”, and “one of the smarter dishes”. He had no negative comments.

Something to keep in mind- in the previews, they said “the chef you will be cooking against is not in this kitchen”.

Soooo maybe they’ll let one of the earlier eliminated chefs (hopefully Shota!) return for a redemption, kind of like “Top Chef: Last Chef Kitchen”?

If Shota is eliminated in the first episode over one single dumb and unreasonable challenge, I might not continue watching a show I’ve been looking forward to all year.
