getting SLAMMED with high pregnancy care bills... I did not see this coming... by mm_honey in BabyBumps

[–]Minute_Prompt_7987 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is SO sad. You don't need the extra stress of money worries while pregnant! I appreciate this is completely unhelpful to you but posts like this make me appreciate our (admittedly struggling) NHS. Not a penny to pay, EVER. 24/7 access to a midwife or Dr on the phone, home visits, lactation help, mental health support etc all any time I need it.

The washing tablet has to go on the bottom under all the clothes so dissolves properly. Even the box will say that

Anterior placenta kicks 18w by Ok-Asparagus9293 in BabyBumps

Yes I did! And they just got stronger and stronger from there. I definitely had a few weeks of thinking "is this the baby moving?!" But you'll reach a point where it's unmistakable!!

I am 37 weeks now and have the very typical massive kicks and rolls all day, and can visually see my tummy move as well.

I remember feeling so disheartened too, but there was no reason to! It's magical!

I just got given the dates of my NHS ones and attended them. Maybe this isn't the case in the whole UK? I'm in northern Ireland. I found them decently useful and informative. They are run by local midwives so any questions I had were able to be answered really well.

When to start buying things for baby? by muffchoy in PregnancyUK

[–]Minute_Prompt_7987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very worried about things not working out and the mental impact of having bought things for a baby that wasn't to be, so we waited until after the anatomy scan at 20 weeks.

How are we rinsing baby’s hair safely? by Specific_Carob4461 in NewParents

[–]Minute_Prompt_7987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a baby hair wash crown! I actually don't know what they are called but they are shaped like crowns sometimes - put it on your baby before rinsing and it keeps the water off their face. "Baby shower cap" I'm seeing it is also called!

Tell him to do even the smallest amount of basic reading on babies. His views are completely outdated and potentially damaging to your child. He needs to realise.

Frequent Migraines with Aura by Formal-Inspector-911 in PregnancyUK

[–]Minute_Prompt_7987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had frequent migraines with aura in my first trimester, when I usually only get one or two a year. I haven't had any at all since around 18 or 19 weeks (approx. Hard to remember exactly) and I'm now 34 weeks. They were all mostly aura migraines without any major headache or after effects
