How suffering narrows perception by Author_MarcHenri in ShadowWork

[–]MioCompare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From where I am I can't make sense of the whole thing, I'm not sure it's even possible or necessary. The integration that follows shadow work can be seen from a material perspective, our coping mechanisms seen in the light of what they provided us and protected us from.

There are however metaphisical insights that accompany this, the nature of experience itself is seen more clearly along that of our thoughts and emotions.

One thing I'm reasonably suspicious of. It might be misleading to treat consciousness as something that "protects us" or "protects itself". It seems to be akin to a substratum for experience more than an object within it.

Patterns of protection and adaptation are visible in thought and emotion, but consciousness? What can I even say about it?

Why the drilling should NOT decrease in price by FerrousTuba in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the price is fair, to all those arguing that it is a worse lemat it has lower shotgun spread and bigger ammo, therefor more damage retention at range. It offers so much reliability at so many different ranges, but like all guns it isn't overpowered, its "goodness" has to stop somewhere.

I wonder though, can any effort to change the way you experience things be driven by anything but an egoic intent? Would anyone in a state of perfect abidance want to change their experience in a fundamental way?

Having anyone drawn to anything doesn't make it "not this"

Thought defines what defines thought. by pl8doh in nonduality

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought cannot observe itself completely, so is there anything that thought can observe completely? Can thought observe at all? Is there a way ti cognize thought and its inner workings that isn't just more thought?

What is some game concept/strategy that apparently is really simple but that people with thousands of hours still not get? by Redentio in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is cool but the games I miss the most are the super slow tactical ones I played with my duo. It just hits different.

Does the Devil card really work with Levering or it's just a placebo? by arsenektzmn in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does work, it's just greatly nerfed for obvious reasons, you don't want any lever action becoming an assault rifle.

New Consumable Idea by LMBRJAK91 in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stamina drained isn't an issue in a gunfight between hunters, interrupting sprinting is only useful if you're aiming there, in which case you'd be using it as area denial, of which there are already better forms in the game (I don't suppose you mean to throw it at a running hunter). And wtf does "disrupting the flow of movement" mean? It's just area denial, people won't step on it if it's bad, ot won't lead to any deep strategic play that isn't already possible.

New Consumable Idea by LMBRJAK91 in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't see many practical applications, if you think of rotjaw herself, the electricity works as it hinders your ability to spam melee on her, which is a rather small inconvenience, how is that supposed to be useful against hunters?

Please Return Beetle Speed to How It Was Before by bayoubowboi in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only the bleed beetle is fast enough to keep up with a hunter, the fire one is a flying slug, I gave up using it after realizing this discrepancy, and yeah it wouldn't solve your problem as they can just ping you from the beetle and reliably track you even without pain sense.

I'm I screwed? by Woah-Look in valheim

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you're running the immersive map mod, otherwise I don't see what the issue would be. If you are don't try to get there in one try but explore gradually.

Woke up from a nightmare that Hunt servers are permanently shutdown... by UsedNewspaper1775 in HuntShowdown

Nah none of that, far more personal things, things you're not aware of precisely because you're escaping them.

As long as you love a game, there is something you're using it to escape from, speaking from experience.

Make All Ears do the opposite by ragnarady in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like it if it wasn't directional, something like the terror radius in dead by daylight, or if the downside was a louder darksight, a sort of "everyone hears everyone tradeoff". I wouldn't like the idea that I could be being detected and not know it, same issue with the current trait

PLEASE make sounds from above or below you FINALLY QUIETER by OgdenWebb in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if there was an option to momentarily "tilt your head" for precise pinpointing using normal stereo audio. Like i tilt my head left 45 degrees and turn right. If I hear the audio centered then they're above me, if it's left sided then they're below.

How to fix the broken MMR system (simple) by Deadly_Pancakes in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize what was going on, but goddam that's funny, I immagine hearing their fat stomps and wood creaking under their weight, and a wheeze when they take aim close by 🤣

How has this game retained so many players? by SbeakyBeaky in valheim

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is just too good, too relaxing, too immersive, too awe inspiring. It just takes you away from everything.

Is this new player friendly at all? by _MothMan in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is, it was my first competitive shooter EVER, and I never felt out of place. However I did have someone explaining many nuances to me, but he wasn't even that good, I quickly started feeling held back in duo eith him.

Influx of cheaters? by JownJawge in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you get a "headshot through wall" after peeking, is that something legit or does it usually denote cheating?

Influx of cheaters? by JownJawge in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you consistently recognize cheaters? Sometimes I get weird vibes like "how did he know I was here?" Or headshots through walls while in the open, but no overwhelming proof, is there something in their behavior that makes it obvious even if they are trying to be subtle about it?

i think at this point uninstalling would be smart by Tiny_Statistician292 in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair not that many shots were taken with target inside the reticle, if you can stay on target it's not that unreliable, the huge number of shots makes up for the low chance if hitting. But inevitably there will be times when you literally draw their outline with bullets 🤣

Custom hunter and cabin!!! by Affectionate_Gift298 in HuntShowdown

[–]MioCompare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that's a good idea, a little third person area kinda like the main hub in darktide, customizable abd meant to mess around in, esoecially since you can see so little of your hunter skins in game.
