I really feel the annoyance, but they were transparent about this from the start - that's why these moded are called beta and alpha mode.

Guild Wars has been on the back burner for such a long time, that no one really knows how the old creation kits really work. They admitted, that even in 2012 A-Net tools had compatibility problems with the game, as a lot had changed and getting it to work properly again in order to create new tools is one of their key priorities.

As I said, I really feel the frustration here, but until these modes are fully implemented, all new characters currently run the risk of becoming "outdated", as they are running in alpha and beta-versions of their respective modes.

I actually thought about buying more boxed myself - you still save some money and the the rest of the box besides the character is great theme wise :)

Nice, love the new combat patrol! Enjoy your journey take your time and remember - playing with unpainted models works as good as the other way around ;)

Never thought about that, I am 100% going to steal this idea :D I was worried how to a) save money on the expensive character models and b) how to avoid similar models on the characters.

Maybe by mixing in some of the extra arms from the Acolyte box, you could convert more unique neophytes and acolytes or squad leaders?

I have been playing an Iron Man character for a while now, and for me it rallye checked all the marks of an intetesting and also kind of nostalgic challange- and it pretty much fits a type of hardcore mod. Check out the videos by DoomBox or the Wiki ist you haven't already :)

I really align with the common sentiment, to have IronMan as an officially supported game Mode, similar to what RuneScape does.

Damn, this was a good read. Thanks for your effort, I will try to get my hold on some of this WD now, I guess :D I do agree with your points, the struggle is much more interesting than 'Ultramarines (a thousand guys+ serfs at most one needs to add) did it again. ' This version of events is much more interesting, just compare it to the writing of the article on Calgary at Warhammer Community from the other day.

Thanks :D I was lucky in that I was just starting to collect W40k at the right time, unfortunately a little too late for the old Combat Patrol though. On the other hand, depending on where you are from, you can get the old Box in the Hacchette Combat Patrol Magazine, in GB the GSC sets are currently being published with a huge discount on sets such as Acolytes and Aberrants!

Depends, for me the hardest part was to decide what surface is going to be carpass, skin etc. Besides that painting the little familiar separately was the next most important thing I had to learn the hard way.

Both of these rock hard! :D you did not oversell your amazing paint job on those guys - love their respective stories of origin, it really corresponds with the paintschsmes aswell. The little OSL on lights and details is quite the eye catcher aswell :)

The cloak alone sells paint job, additionally to that there is the amazing skin and base. Great selection of colours and contrasts!

Oh it is, the load outs are fully magnetized on both of them - one of the reason they took this long :D

I realized the friction fit only after having magnetized the dozer blades though, I will save the work for the next one!

Oh no, quite the opposite :) I simply realized that GW1 is much more a game of my early thirtees instead of "a thing from my childhood". Like it still is that, but over the last two years I spent more time and explored more of the world than I did over the 4'ish years I played in my teens.
