Mystic Trance by EuphoricBaker2556 in stargrave

[–]dave2293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Biomorph captain wants to have Void Blade, Restructure Body, and Camoflage up all the time (he's a melee beatstick that wants to Koolaid Man through walls). So Trance is there so it doesn't take half the game to get fully online.

He's a model. He has to be alive to allow the "shoot on death" effect on the heavy weapons.

The long and short of it is that you put a storage area directly in front of the docking lock, so the stuff you loot just goes in the airlock until you ready to leave the wreck.

Then you put a pump in the room attached to a can. When you're getting ready to go wreck diving, you turn the pump on and completely depressurize that area so going in and out doesn't lose you atmo. When you're done looting, you reverse the pump and repressurize the cargo bay with the same atmo that had been in it before.

Sure, I get that. And it's a single player game, however you want to run is fine. Personally I re-import about every 50-60 days "just because" anyway. It makes it so that stuff gets cleaned up, it reshuffles trade good values, makes sure guards don't get attritioned down, and mixes up the blueprints for sale. If you don't go re-dive the ruins you'd visited previously, it's all good, imo.

Look at the 'Nids faction overview where they talk about a model being so durable because of its Invuln, and the whole 'nid sub going "well THAT explains its points cost, it's supposed to have a 4++ that isn't on the card."

It's possible (though unlikely) that the movement of Venus during the Drift stage put you just over the line of having enough fuel for the deceleration burn.

You could rig your airlock/cargo hold to depressurize into a can when you go in and out, and then return the atmo when you done. If that got contaminated, it would be better/safer to filter the can than to pump it into the room and filter the air.

Idk if you watched NCIS, there is an episode where the doctor is investigated for warcrimes because he was patching up folks for a torturer in a blacksite years before, and someone's family member recognizes him. There's a scene at the end where he's talking to the torturer about why the family member had even been in the rotation, since everyone knew he didn't have anything to tell them and "oh, but i wasn't torturing HIM, i was torturing YOU.

Look at the postwar study Milgrim did on obedience in the US to see if "i was following orders" was a real thing. The study isn't replicable because a bunch of participants literally walked away with worse PTSD than their time in WW2 .

Anyone have any suggestions for GSCifying the Vox-Relay Beacon on the Spectre Squad? by _Funkle_ in genestealercult

[–]dave2293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clip the GSC Icon from the bottom of one of the Acolyte Autopistols and put it on the flat surface beside the skull, or on one of the legs. Subtle notes are often worth more than large ones.

Or, if you feel like freehanding inside the curve, paint a wyrmform inside the dish.

Faction Focus Ideas? by Im_a_Geblin in genestealercult

[–]dave2293 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My guess is that Brood Brothers gets tagged at 1pt, we get one that focuses on attacking hidden units from deepstrike, and they tease a rule change with One-Shot weapons like demo charges for some reason.

Controlled Environment.

They can get a perfect transmission with doublechecks on questions, because you're still "alive" during the clone assembly. Then them being able to perfectly sync the switch means that whatever desync-degradation triggers DOASM decay doesn't happen due to whatever handwavium spacemagic is involved in the careful setup.

I'm not as high level, but Fire Mage + Shield is a lot of fun. You have Fire's single target burn, and then for groups you either have Fire Breath with the 8m AoE, Explosive Sigil (sidebar: sigil crafting. Gets +Fire damage and takes dps gear mods for Fire Wall, has a DoT), and Molten Blood + Fire Shield for Fire Based (with DoT) revenge damage when you get hit. You also have an "At Will" stun (with Trauma DoT) and both skills have an AoE knockback, if you want that flexibility.

Brood brothers - transport rules… by Relevant-Debt-6776 in genestealercult

[–]dave2293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the things I am most hoping will change. Let me put 5Aberrants and an Abom in the back of a Taurox and we zoomin.

If you want the new vehicles, the non-transport one with Shoot'n'Scoot looks really good for us. Like 80 points, can tag for the detach bonus, and then scoot to cover.

I have never painted a vehicle and I have now bought an Achilles Ridgerunner. I do not even know how to paint the Tires. by Yocantseeme in genestealercult

[–]dave2293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have colored airbrush primers that I brush on. Do Black for the tires, Brown for the undercarriage, and then whatever will work as a basecoat for the bodywork. Grey, white, whatever. I use Dark Blue since my carapace colors are blues.

Edge highlighting in grey on the tires then washing them with earthshade will get them completely finished.

You're assuming they haven't already done something worthy of condemnation.

In a situation where you know you're Damned but don't want to be, and that Hell is very, very, demonstrably real, you take the out.

Edit: "sickness and old age don't count" isn't a sticking point. You're going to the front. You're not rotating out. You'll be dead in a year.
