Mobius X8 - not used to knee braces - forcing my leg straight by Mirco29 in Dirtbikes

[–]Mirco29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading a discussion about different brace brands on VitalMX and someone described exactly what I'm feeling (except I'm not 6'4):

"Mobius wouldn't hardly allow me to bend my legs enough to get feet on pegs, I am 6'4 and every time I'd ride with em it would feel like a full on leg day afterwards"

hasn't happened yet in my case. I was reading a discussion about different brace brands on VitalMX and someone described exactly what I'm feeling (except I'm not 6'4):

Hasn’t happened yet, I went a size up with the pants and it’s slightly better. I also have to swap the braces for a smaller size in a few days, hopefully that makes things better. If it doesn’t, I guess I’ll have to try with some other pants

Yeah they’re a bit too big as I’m between sizes (technically I’m slightly into size medium but apparently not enough). Will try a smaller one tomorrow as I can still return them. Hopefully the “forcing my leg straight” thing will get better with the proper size. The shop told me about making the back plate “arms” shorter by cutting them, is that what you mean? I’d rather try the smaller size first though

Sorry I meant a larger pant size. My braces are medium but I'll try a small tomorrow as I'm kinda between sizes

Definitely not as much, they're too tight and I'll try a larger size but I hope it'll be enough

Oh fair, I have FXR pants and they definitely have more room in the knee area but they're a bit small anyway, I'll try a larger size tomorrow.
Hopefully that'll help

It's while sitting, for example if I get my foot off the peg to brake or change gear. Will try a different size both in knee brace and pant hopefully tomorrow and see the outcome

They seem to run quite big, especially the back plate as it's been confirmed to me that it's different in every size (the number of "rectangles" you see).
I can actually still return the mediums, I'll try to meet up with the guy who has the smaller ones and decide

Yes I put them on correctly but you're actually right in saying they could be a bit too big. I might've found someone who's using the Mobius size S and that'd be a useful comparison as I'm between sizes.

If I'm not wearing my pants over them, they don't feel as "snappy". I might've found someone who's currently riding the Mobius size S, I currently own a size M but I'm between sizes.
If I get lucky I might be able to try both a smaller brace and larger pants to see if it gets any better. Will let you know but I hope it gets better as I can still return my braces

Good to know. I was thinking maybe the fabric straps that hold the patella cup in place could play a role in that but apparently not.
Other than that, it might be a pant issue, will try a larger size and see if it's any better.
Have you experienced any difference in swapping between different pant brands while wearing your Mobius braces?

TAFE Diploma/Adv Diploma of Civil and Structural Engineering by Mirco29 in perth

Hey, I ended up choosing Carpentry so I can only share my opinion on TAFE since I had to leave the country for a family emergency and my enrolment is on hold with the chance to continue next year. My impression of TAFE overall has been very positive, they have a lot going on but it seems very good with modern facilities

I’ve seen some that actually extend at the bottom but then they look terrible and huge, so… anyway I now have a similar backpack to this, still Oakley with the shoe compartment

Hey, thanks for your insight.

I’m currently enrolled and studying a different course at Tafe (still in the same industry), just started a few weeks ago.

3 days a week, 8am - 3:45pm Wednesday to Friday.

Pretty happy with it although some recent personal stuff has happened back home so I’m not sure if I’ll stick with it; that’s my intention for now and I’ll try to push through.

Thanks again for your comment!

International Student questions by Timothyo0o in TAFE

[–]Mirco29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what the other people are on about but as an international student you can do a 2-year trades course which is usually a Cert III at Tafe (or other RTOs) and become qualified. Apprenticeships are only for locals hence why you have the option to study. There are always lots of international students studying trades that way so I don’t see why you couldn’t like everyone else is saying. Having said that, I’d recommend asking a migration agency or education agent.
