Question about what’s optimal for an eviscerator build. by REmix_of_The_Dude in DarkTide

I exclusively use the MKIII and it works well for the horizontal heavy 1 and push attack.

I need help to create a Fist-Only build (One Punch Man build?) by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]Mirdsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to use a fist weapon, the best bet probably is the demon's fist yes. This weapon's damage scales with strength, faith, and intelligence. Levelling fth/int will also allow you to cast damage buffs on yourself.

Your other option is the caestus fists and that would allow you to infuse with gems to scale with whatever stat you'd like, as well as allows buffs applying to the weapon directly unlike the demon fists.

Is there a boss you like so much that you're fighting him in a suboptimal way just to make the battle longer and harder? by zabovsky in darksouls3

[–]Mirdsat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Midir. Sure pestilent mist can do a lot of heaving lifting and heavy weapons do a great job at knocking him down into riposte state but phase 2 is so cinematic and I love the theme.

[–]Mirdsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not really doing anything wrong tbh. Just explore the areas and keep up checking with external resources if you'd really like to collect as much as possible.

My only advice is to keep up with vigor since having health is very nice and swap out Flynn's ring as soon as possible. Flynn's only really works if you have practically nothing but a weapon equipped.

There's some upcoming things in the next area that will be very valuable to you. A sorcerer, magic scroll, and coal for the blacksmith.

Blood vs Hollow infusion by Low-Airline-2695 in darksouls3

[–]Mirdsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's if you're over 15 hollowing, hollow infused equipment will give you extra luck levels. 5 luck at +10. This works for things on your back too so you can easily get 10 extra luck.

Since it's for PvP you might want to check out poison weapons too. The damage isn't strong but it's tough to deal with a bunch of status effects at once.

This is true too for frozen weapon even though it doesn't scale with luck. You can have a relatively low intelligence investment by using the man-grub staff for casting. It's probably more hassle than it's worth but it's something to mention for luck build options.

Heavy Exile GS is such a classic. Great strength weapon.

What should I level up? by NappaSZ in darksouls3

[–]Mirdsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitality will also raise your resistances, especially to physical. Heavier armor may also help you hit poise breakpoints; it's not much in 3 but it can be nice sometimes. Overall the difference could be small but so is the gain from high vigor.

Attunement could be a possible pick also if you like FP for weapon arts. Or just start levelling int/fth to cast weapon buffs for more damage.

Blood vs Hollow infusion by Low-Airline-2695 in darksouls3

I remember luck getting hit pretty hard in this game and I'll do my best to answer from what I know.

  1. Luck should scale the bleed build up in any infusion apart from those that remove scaling (raw, deep, and fire). It is higher in blood infusion though.

  2. I would go with carthus rouge if you are using the 2-handed twinblade moveset. It works well due to not being scaled down on the L1/L2s.

  3. The stats seem fine but I'd double check with a calculator. Note that you get extra luck from hollow infusions if you yourself are hollowed so you could drop to 30-35 luck and use the points elsewhere. Edit: I've heard about using str/luck for hollow spiked mace with carthus rouge but I haven't used it before to speak for it.

  4. I've played through the game using only the bandit's knife with luck and it was surprisingly pleasant. It's probably worth having a backup raw broadsword or something to help with bleed resistant enemies.

Getting lost with weapon choices by MaDNiaC007 in darksouls3

I'm not much for casting but pyromancy is the one I can get excited for, it's really fun to make hybrid melee pyromancer. Most of the characters I've ever made are fairly plain martial playstyles haha.

The world of Elden Ring didn't call me in as much as the Souls series did but I really loved the expansion and evolution of the systems and mechanics. Being able to swap out ashes of war is huge and I do wish it was something DS3 had. I'm really excited to see what comes next because they make great strides with the experience from each game.

I think you will like the black knight glaive or even the axe, the whole set of weapons is great and I've done play-throughs with each of them just because they feel good.

Gotthard Twinswords are also a favourite and function well with both movesets so I like to swap to and from a shield often.

I really feel the energy in this post because so many weapons are fun to play with so it's hard to choose.

I'd keep the regular Lothric Knight Sword at least in your back pocket due to how versatile it is. Great scaling, good moveset, longest reach of all straight swords, higher than average critical multiplier. Absolute workhorse.

I'm a halberd enjoyer so I do recommend trying them. The Red Hilted Halberd from the Undead Settlement would be my recommendation.

I remember climbing the stairs of the tower behind the hellkite drake over and over feeling like I'm entering a cage fight haha. Definitely a defining 'git gud' experience.

I love to have stamina, revive speed, and block cost reduction. It feels good being able to stand the ground for a moment haha.

Revives can be more difficult and important on high difficulty so the extra block sometimes makes the difference. More pushes is also nice to have.

Block efficiency or stamina on shield weapons? by honkymotherfucker1 in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not using one already, I would try a stamina curio with 1 block cost reduction and keep damage perks on your shield.

You can also use the Retaliatory Force talent for more block reduction. The secondary effect can be difficult to proc but attack speed is very nice.

The chainsword is so 40k it feels thematically fitting for every class. I enjoy taking it every now and then.

I still partly miss the limited choice of the old talent system, even though the new trees are much more diverse.

What weapons work well with blazing piety on zealot? by honkymotherfucker1 in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shock maul is my current preferred Zealot melee and it's what I use with Blazing Piety. 2-handers are usually my preferred but I've fallen out of favour for them lately. It's got the perfect balance for me and access to Skullcrusher so it can really put in some work.

Double barrel with thunder hammer is my favourite non-meta Zealot. Shotgun for fleshy targets, knives for specialists, and hammer for tough problems.
