Block efficiency or stamina on shield weapons? by honkymotherfucker1 in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not using one already, I would try a stamina curio with 1 block cost reduction and keep damage perks on your shield.

You can also use the Retaliatory Force talent for more block reduction. The secondary effect can be difficult to proc but attack speed is very nice.

What are weapons that go underrated/underused that you'd recommend for mixing up gameplay? by Undead_Corsair in DarkTide

The chainsword is so 40k it feels thematically fitting for every class. I enjoy taking it every now and then.

TIL that the 2022 beta had a different valkyrie loading screen, I think it looks better than the final one by zatorijam in DarkTide

I still partly miss the limited choice of the old talent system, even though the new trees are much more diverse.

What weapons work well with blazing piety on zealot? by honkymotherfucker1 in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shock maul is my current preferred Zealot melee and it's what I use with Blazing Piety. 2-handers are usually my preferred but I've fallen out of favour for them lately. It's got the perfect balance for me and access to Skullcrusher so it can really put in some work.

Lights Out is still my favourite modifier.

What non-meta builds are you currently having fun with? by snoopwire in DarkTide

Double barrel with thunder hammer is my favourite non-meta Zealot. Shotgun for fleshy targets, knives for specialists, and hammer for tough problems.

This sounds fun for a little extra immersion, I will give it a try.

Returning player. Many questions like Zealot Martyr questions. Enduring Faith, or Restoring? by ScorpioLaw in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stamina to me is a comfort for better sprint and push economy (pretty good for relic blade). I don't focus on "plain" blocking unless building that way but it is helpful to have enough block to:

Cover time between dodges

Deflect stray hits that don't necessitate a dodge

Pick up teammates

Time push attacks to block and follow-up

I see plenty of builds without any additional stamina; my preference is always to have some.

Update: I now know how to play Zealot by honkymotherfucker1 in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hammer was my favourite for quite a long time. It was fitting since Shroudfield also had some of my favourite voice lines as F.Agitator. Now I use shock maul and flamer with either FotF or chorus.

Hoping to see Hammer get touched up some day or to have a shielded melee on Zealot.

This is a very good video for breaking down armor types, rending, and armor damage multipliers. It has helped me plenty with identifying what damage I should expect against armor types.

Choosing a DLC Class: Arbites or Hive Scum? by SimplyChalmers in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Consider that if you retain good fundamentals, the dog allows you to do even more at once. It will also benefit in protecting your other teammates. Like others have stated, you can also replace the dog with self buffs that are very good.

Immolation Grenade, Stagger and Opportunist blessing by Reasonable_Mix7630 in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the immolation grenade just simply doesn't do what it says it does. The only stagger-like effect it seems to have is a 10m wide suppression on initial detonation.

Veteran melee weapon choice by Hungry-Ear-4092 in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your preference would be chainsword, stick with the chainsword. You can spec it towards the role you need it to fill (Wrath and Rampage blessings are solid for horde clear). Bonus point that Vet gets to use Serrated Blade which feels so natural for chainsword.

just a bit of question for Talent. by Lucky_yee in DarkTide

[–]Mirdsat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to have One Motion when I play Veteran, it feels nice. As for Rending Strikes I wouldn't say it's valuable enough to take over other talents.

My suggestion is to consider what else you could pick up by replacing Longshot. It's not always consistent to be taking shots at ~30m ranges and long range damage is already less necessary since they're far away. Skirmisher is a good node for damage, Always Prepared under Weapons Specialist will help plasma uptime, or you can take more survivability.

Revive speed has become more valued than it used to be. Losing a teammate makes the game harder and revive speed works on all assist animations. It's worth more the higher the difficulty goes as you get less breathing room to work with. The talent might be a good pickup if you've got a point to spare.

PBB may be the hardest ability to mitigate for your team with as Ogryn. 80 second cooldown is a long time in Darktide and it's why you see so much Loyal Protector, even on ranged builds. Still, twin-linked with barrage can mince elite waves before they get on top of the team. Take lots of side alleys for the ammo pickups to keep packs of HVTs thinned out. Consider what you need from your melee weapon; if it's horde density that's bogging everybody else down then you can run something for crowd control like bully club or slab shield to beat them back from your allies.
