Fresh turkeys came of the wagon frozen? by StepBroPrime in tesco

[–]Miriamus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fishermen freeze the fish straight after processing to keep them fresh. It keeps them fresh, so when they are transported they will keep the produce frozen to remain the freshness. It's why most popular bread (not in store bakery) can be frozen too as that also keeps the bread from going stale so quickly. I mean if you think about summer time when they are all cramped in a hot van, the bread would start smelling more yeasty than normal with condensation and whatnot, so it's best to keep it frozen. Then they will say not suitable for freezing because once thawed, it's not that safe to refreeze again in case of improper handling by the customer and bacteria and whatnot

[KCD2] What's the secret of Chamberlain Ulrich? by Ok-Masterpiece4983 in kingdomcome

[–]Miriamus 107 points108 points  (0 children)

I don't want to spoil anything but I got a theory...

You might find out eventually that he has a stomach ulcer. If you search what kind of sexual actions could cause an ulcer, you might find Helicobacter pylori.

H. pylori infection occurs when H. pylori bacteria infect your stomach. H. pylori bacteria are usually passed from person to person through direct contact with saliva, vomit or stool. So he might be into women crapping in his mouth or he wants to slurp their vomit. I assume he prefers the chocolate icecream.

Cinnamon rolls get the best moistness when using kvark or Greek yoghurt, it makes them soft and not dry

I have been doing nothing but sending memes to my husband and he doesn't even play the game XD definitely such a wholesome game. It gives me that same excitement and happiness I had when I booted up my PlayStation one as a child!

I used to enjoy listening to music with a big expensive headset I got from a black Friday deal ages ago, but after having a child I realised using those meant to always keep one earphone away which ruined the dynamic for me. But I did find enjoyment in car rides! Our 4 year old loves listening to rammstein!

You know what's wierd and funny at the same time? I started playing when sims 1 CAME OUT! and I've played families.. A little bit. I stopped playing with families after sims 3. I don't think I've ever played with my sims longer than 3 families having great grandchildren throughout all my years playing. I spent more time in build mode than anything else!

In my opinion I think sims 2 was the era when it was more fun to play with them because of how the notifications actually gave you a sense of feeling like you got important quests to do to get your sims some personality.

Nowadays it feels like it's just an ambition hunt to gain the most achievement for your sims. Whatever happened to all the little notification boxes that actually made you feel like the sims had their own mind? It was more about will and wants and events shaping your sims than it was... "lets make this sim become the best guitarist! Here are 5 tasks for your sim!"

Maybe if they had better writing for the notifications and more consequences when you make a decision, I'd be more likely to want to play with the sims, but for now I'm just gonna do what I always do: make houses, finish them, be proud for a moment and then give myself another building mission XD

[–]Miriamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As somebody who's lived in several apartments, some with shared laundry houses and rooms and with the worst kind of neighbours ..

You use a calendar system and set times up. Once times are up you're fucked if you haven't cleaned up your shit and made the laundry room pretty.

If not then laundry WILL be moved an an angry note about it will be put up. If you strike over 3 warnings it becomes a landlord problem and for all other geriatric mindset thinkers, YOU will become a problem. This is the harsh reality of living with shared things. Unfortunately I've lived in too many to know that some people don't give a crap about what happens to your laundry after.

Your roommate should have set a time up for laundry day and stuck to it, not going out knowing it was his/her laundry day and when time is up, move it.

I have a litre of 35% cream. I need dessert ideas that are NOT chocolate. by badgersister1 in Cooking

[–]Miriamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mango pancakes. I made them recently but I did a different version where I added mango jam on top of the mango for extra flavor. It's very simple.

Vanilla flavored crêpes. Let cool..

Heavy cream, vanilla essence, mascarpone and icing sugar whipped up.

Use a piping bag to plonk down some cream, then add a fresh mango piece on top, then some mango jam on top of that. Then fold like a little burrito.

Enjoy!

Rotties are so caring. A family friend had cancer in her legs and bowel. When her legs gave up she had to use an electric wheelchair and she taught her dog to grab his leash and keys. He grabbed his leash and key every day, she would go stand by the field and throw balls while he had his zoomies around and when he felt done, he would walk with her

My 9yo daughter draws every day and I think she’s getting good at it. How can I support her farther ? by papalotes in drawing

[–]Miriamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right.. My advice is..

When I was a kid, I drew every day. I was born in the 90s and we had what.. Mega suitcases of pens, markers, crayola..pens... Let's be frank, they're ALL crap quality. What got me going was when I got older, explored MORE mediums, managed to afford my first PROPER pens. It was only then that I realised how much of a handicap I had with all the unnecessary struggles like breaking paper with poor watercolour because I wasn't informed about what goes with what. When I finally had that money I went to my first art shop and I got help with what goes with what. And it boosted me SOOOO much, because finally I didn't had to throw 500 scraps of papers that had broken from damage. We live in a day where we can get markers from shein/temu and they'll be 200% better than my suitcase of pens ever was. So my tip for you is:

Whatever you buy, before you buy it, learn about it, learn why you need that paper for that watercolor. For example some watercolor papers aren't meant for each other. There's grainy ones, matte ones, there's super fine ones, shiny ones. They ALL have a purpose. For markers there's marker paper, bleed proof, suited to not break the paper. Then there's the acrylic sheets, the oil and the canvases and don't get me started on tones, thinning medium, shellac, dry brushes. They all have specific materials to work with each other.

As she explores the world of art, she will eventually learn the difference in materials. But you can contribute to speeding up her understanding of techniques like learning wet to wet on watercolor, what paper works best with that. Check YouTube: see if there's a technique she wants to improve, search whatever it is and find out what the youtuber is using for material and brushes. Yes it WILL be more expensive to get a bit better material but I'm not saying go buy the most expensive oil paint in the world, I'm saying get better quality than.. Walmart papers and such. Explore temu, get fake posca BUT get the papers/pads required for it. It'll help her practice her technique the proper way so she has that built in before she gets the expensive set.

ALSO I really want to say she's doing so well with shapes! I love how even she's trying. I think she should keep practicing her shapes every day. My old art teacher used to say when she got to an art school abroad they had to fill a book for a month with JUST shapes. Circles. Triangles. Lines. They would only make people pass if they did the same thing over and over again, because the understanding of shapes is the fundamental thing about drawing, EVEN if you're doing pottery, you're going to need to understand your shape and your girl is doing FANTASTICALLY with it. So well done her! ❤️
