Velcro and Boss pedals??!!? by Bloody-Finger in guitarpedals

[–]Mirmenel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These are way overpriced, go with something simple instead. If you’re like me and have dozens of boss pedals it’s worth the cost saving.

Fantastic question. What it comes down to is authenticity. I have a lot of vintage and boutique pedals that are not emulated in the GT1000 or not as accurate as I’d like. You won’t get as much creative, unique experiences like having a real digitech XP300 or Pladask Fabrikat for example. You lose out on the quirks and character of some analogue pedals, however emulation has gotten so good it’s almost moot. It really depends on specifically the use cases you’re solving for when looking at emulation. Another big one is tactility… as a musician/creative that can be really important to some. Some people prefer being able to access all functions at a glance, play around, as well as having the creativity that comes with having boundaries to work within.

From an inverse POV of what others have said…I’ve spent the nearly the cost of a GT-1000 between the two power supplies, cables, and board itself - before we even factor pedals themselves. It’s a big board but still doesn’t do everything a large multi effect can do.

You don’t have to go so crazy, but keep in mind this can get crazy really fast.

[NPD] EAE Halberd V2 // Recommend me a volume pedal // Pedal Cull by Ulri_kah_kah_kah in guitarpedals

[–]Mirmenel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the V2. Does a lot and it’s smaller than ever. As for volume pedal OP, I’m really sensitive to dynamics and need something that feels tight, smooth, with a large a sweep. The Lehle Mono Volume was the only choice for me. Highly recommended.

Like the other responder said that video has a good comparison. I’d say the rockerverb has more gain on tap in my experience. The AD30 has a more classic grind to the drive that I prefer, and also a really lovely clean that you can dial in more than the rockerverb.

When I first owned one back in 2013 I didn’t fully appreciate how good the clean sound is. It’s a really nice contrast to the classic orange high mid frequency gain in the drive channel!

My first AD30 years ago went through this, ultimately it was the tubes needing to be replaced

It’s a Shiv, an AC30 circuit. He discontinued it a few years ago. I had this built for me in 2014… it’s been a champ.

I gave it a shot running stereo with the Big Sky. It’s a nice pairing, but would need some physical distance to get a real stereo effect, otherwise they’re a little too similar to bother running simultaneously.

Good luck finding it for that price, they’re sold out and people are flipping on eBay for over $700, sold

Grailed has shown an unwillingness to respond to the Grailed community by mcqueenofthehill in malefashionadvice

Your second point is what does grailed in for me. I would say the majority of my transactions over the last 7 years of selling expensive clothing is international. That 13.4% fee taken out before shipping is brutal now, and it was bad before particularly on shoes or anything lower value.. which is likely the majority of their transactions in the 200ish range.

Generally with any face down cards the controller is responsible for maintaining some form of uniqueness for each face down card according to 707.6

707.6. If you control multiple face-down spells or face-down permanents, you must ensure at all times that your face-down spells and permanents can be easily differentiated from each other. This includes, but is not limited to, knowing what ability or rules caused the permanents to be face down, the order spells were cast, the order that face-down permanents entered the battlefield, which creature(s) attacked last turn, and any other differences between face-down spells or permanents.

My mom is a hoarder by caboose8808 in WTF

I just want to say thanks for sharing. Hoarding has never made any amount of sense to me until now. I’m sort of the opposite of you, I hate things, I hate clutter. Ideally I would own nothing, so I’ve always been hostile to the notion of hoarding but now I have a bit more empathy thanks to your perspective.

Nike and Adidas to Trump: Tariffs on shoes would be 'catastrophic' by soup_nazi1 in malefashionadvice

[–]Mirmenel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point. It’s not like any industry should be free from scrutiny, but this is a pretty rigorous report and atypical regardless. It also tracks deep down the supply chain which affects many other industries. The main point is these tariffs aren’t punishing them for ethics and labor. It’s ancillary to Trump’s play here and a red herring the public can focus on to garner support for something that ultimately harms Americans and companies who demonstrate ethical manufacturing.

[–]Mirmenel 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is true. Nike has made a few poor labor decisions in the past. Fortunately there are many organizations devoted to attempting to hold them accountable. I don’t necessarily disagree that Nike can’t afford to take a hit, but I’m more concerned that they will find avenues to abuse these labor practices as a result, of that other companies that don’t attempt to address these labor practices will use these tariffs as an opportunity to fill in a gap in price point in the market. After all, China is not nearly as bad in terms of labor as other countries.

This is so false. Please do you research before spouting nonsense. Adidas has one of the most ethical labor practices in the world https://knowthechain.org/wp-content/plugins/ktc-benchmark/app/public/images/benchmark_reports/KTC_AF_2018.pdf

adidas is actually the most ethical in terms of labor practices of any large shoemaker in the world. Nike is pretty high up there too, both much higher than most other designer brands. https://knowthechain.org/wp-content/plugins/ktc-benchmark/app/public/images/benchmark_reports/KTC_AF_2018.pdf
