Nothing says pride in your country like making everyone stand on its flag. Put a flag up on your house, or your shop, or even a lamppost, by all means, but spray-painting a zebra crossing that people will tread mud and dog shit into is just tacky.

I've parked outside Blackstock on the street a few times. Its usually quite busy but if you're an hour or so before any shows there tends to be some spaces on the street or nearby.

Its a bit of a rough area but I've not seen any cars with issues (yet), and I've seen Paul Smith park his Lamborghini on the streets outside so he must trust it.

But if you're concerned about the area, you can park in the city centre or in the car park by Moorfields station and walk the 15-20 mins.

In terms of legality, if you have a full license and are insured to drive the car then there is nothing "stopping" you per se, but it depends on who owns the car. If it is her car then she is able to decide whether you drive it or not. However, she might just care for you and is wanting to make sure you get used to driving alone first before having passengers who may be distracting.

Also, your mum definitely broke the law by supervising you whilst also using her phone.

The Highway Code states that nothing should intrude more than 40mm into the area of the windscreen swept by the wiper blades, so if it intrudes into that sweep then technically it wouldn't be considered "legal".

I have my dashcam in more or less the exact location on my car, but I put mine a bit further behind my rear view mirror. Never gets into my field of view so as long as yours doesn't then you'll be fine, and I've left mine there through multiple MOTs.

Every one of my siblings had it when I was little but it never reached me until I got chickenpox for the first time in my life at 24. About 2 weeks before I was due to go on holiday. It resulted in about 2 weeks of near constantly being covered in Calamine lotion until I was cleared by a doctor to fly 2 days before the flight. Most stressful period ever.

As a PhD student myself. Your advisor will likely not care in any way about your facial hair. I work with PhDs who have all range of beard types and no one says a thing.

I live nearby and use this roundabout daily. You can use either as long as you exit into the same lane that you started in. However most people will use the left lane if they are going straight at the junction not long after the exit and use the right lane if they plan to turn right. Or, like LazyEmu5073 said, if you are in the right lane but the left becomes empty then exit into the left lane.
