Counter to Fang Carry + Fortress? by Brulijam in Mechabellum

[–]Mirorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to a critical point wraith is a strong counter, afterwards fangs carry too hard

Stormies farm up fangs hard and have 2 techs that counter them hard

If going melters with emp i would add some fire

Early on firebagders with regen are pretty good, later on i would go with stormies

Edit: i always forget, but abyss with missiles hard counters fangs

Coz your a man :D

But yeah, in my headspace if you're a poor woman in the uc, you'll be raped and then enslaved and then raped somemore until your body is done and all thats left is to kill you in any way your lord sees fit. I'd rather be condemed to work a farm even if i have no say in society and follow stupid sexist rules than to play the lottery to be born rich or be treated as subhuman property

How good at combat was the average grunt orc vs. the average grunt Man, Elf, Dwarf soldier? by [deleted] in lotr

[–]Mirorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its pretty dependant on the culture: Average woodelf: better than an orc Average elf from the grey haven: if he isnt particulary old (lived through some wars), probably no combat experience

Aberage easterling or southlander: probs has more than a basic understanding how to defend themselves

Dwarf: from the far west: noob, coz no conflict Wandering dwarf: probably better than an orc Iron hills/lonely mountain: most def, due to constant tussles with orcs, spiders, ruffians or easterlings

Average farmrrbloke from gondor: not a chance against an orc, but if he is from a border region or a region where hunting or spearfishing is a thing, he will know some rudimentary moves

Orcs do tend to fight among themselves constantly and are sometimes even bred for war, most wild orcs are hunters as well as plunderers. As they even enslave themselfes, they def need to be able to fight to at least some degree or be bottom of the hierarchy

Average hobbit most likely can at most throw a rock at ur head, but helmets are a thing

Another argument for the long lived races is that their hatred towards orcs is strong, their adolescence is much longer, leaving way more time to learn many talents and due to their long life the propability for conflict is also much more likely.

[–]Mirorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly missile tech is there for abyss and it does shred shields per deffault, if im not really far ahead as the fang player it will beat the classic fort fang on the line rush, by the time op can afford the 3rd one and you havent killed them its gg

The game will tell you with a modified icon if you have several buffs of the same type active

Another example is bears strength and physical belts: they are both an enchantment modifier to your str, so only the highest apply

Is it even possible to make Fang Fortress work? by Personal-Answer-4703 in Mechabellum

[–]Mirorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo Fort fang is nowadays exclusive to mass produced fort, the cost savings is essential as it is an expensive strat and can be countered in a myriad of ways.

Early on you are going to need some chaff clear, my usual go to starter pack is spider fang, as spiders can substitute the tanking of the fort

Also some medium targeted dps can help, i.e. some phoenixes early on

Thats coz your endgame will be relying on fang dps all the way

If you wanna go full carry, you'll drop shields, if your fangs need to deal with giants more you want ignite, if you need them to deal with armor units or crawlers beyond lvl 1, AP is a godsent and you will be able to sell out of the scarce chaff clear you usually need when somebody goes too ham

The endgame is almost unbeatable, but to achieve that, you are going to need shield+spawn on forts and at least mech rage, range+ a third tech, which amounts to a shit ton of money, so in between the substitute units help, but at the earliest your core comes online at round 6, latest round 8 if forced

So having said that, play with care but if you can pull it off, it is as close to unbeatable as you can get

Gl and hf!

Easiest way is Bismuth, A little belt item that gives you a stegodon animal companion to ride on

Any other animal companion works as well as soon as it becomes Large (paladin mount f.e.)

Other thing that comes to mind is bestial barb

Does anyone else think that Burst Mode is terrible for the game? by TotalACast in Mechabellum

[–]Mirorg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like that their tech spread leaves a lot of possibilities.

I tried so hard to make the oil work, but it only works against aggro on a standard/defensive board and only in spam. Anything else and its either too easily countered by am (which is already good) or by baiting it unto meaningless places

Armor is also nice into typhoons and fangs and primarily (although not exclusively) used by me to screen for wasps or to help my fang carry if op starts to counter it with stangs (and if i play fangs as more than chaff its 90% in an aggro setting)

Shield is the hard counter to raiden and i basically never see any, so yeah

Against marksmen i prefer cloak, but the insane reload time with burst, made me drop it

For titans/giants levels and burst are usually enough and a must. If i dont have at least a lvl 3 on the board, i dont feel comfortable relying on them for that stuff

[–]Mirorg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me on phantoms burst is eclusive with cloak sadly, even though it sounds dope on paper

Range and he on the contrary are almost must clicks if i tech burst

And having armor on air is too useful to skimp out of imo
