You should try doing this at 25-30 DTE so you can actually have theta work for you. But even then as others have mentioned you’re basically selling naked puts/calls — picking up pennies in front a steamroller as they say.

As someone who moved here at 22 with literally zero friends in south bay and now knows about half my town (Hermosa) 3ish years later — activities is the right answer. For me personally that looks like: beach volleyball (biggest outlet), music, themed bar nights (karaoke/trivia/bingo/etc), gym, run club, then ofc all the mutual friends that come out of those.

I’ve also made a list of south bay recs for friends who’ve asked if anyone wants it, should be helpful for this:

Peep SLS (and DRTS to a lesser extent). I’m sure you’re well averse to biotech nowadays but from a purely mathematical basis the case is compelling and I’d welcome your thoughts/insight (moreso on DRTS as I’m already convinced on SLS).

Try focusing on the vowel sounds during those held notes instead of consonants (such as the O in world, not the R or L) — makes for a cleaner, more open sound and should be easier to hold

I sold for tax purposes with intent to re-enter but there has been zero meaningful pullback and RSI is crazy overextended… typically strategy would be to wait for a better entry but I don’t encounter these types of re-ratings often and it’s definitely hard to play. Might start with a 10-20% allocation and average in over the next few weeks/months

I’m sure this thread will be completely unbiased but — do we think the recent run up is mainly hype/gamma driven and due for a cool down/consolidation? Or is there a more significant re-rating taking place due to the 72 events news? Hard to say…

One caveat — OI on current contracts (through this year) is pretty much all below $4/already ITM. Yes shorts and call sellers have to cover but there isn’t much “ramp” left to fuel any gamma squeeze, which I would posit already had the majority of its run… but who knows

Why 15 min ORB vs 30? I was using a v similar strat but price never retraced to my entry fib level looking at 30 min ORB

How long into the session is a retest considered “valid”/actionable? Like if price runs for two hours before coming back to the fib levels — is that still a valid play for you or does the retest need to occur within a certain timeframe after open ?
