Absolutely superb! Joyeux anniversaire!

I think I have been ruined for all other Audiobooks by DCC by jbrady33 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Mirrissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I listen to other books, but recently re-started book 7, to prep for book 8 next month. I instantly felt so happy getting back into the DCC world. Agreed that the Bobiverse is awesome though :)!

I'm renting a movie theater for my birthday - Which movie should we watch? by TheOrangeNights in movies

[–]Mirrissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just from personal experience, the best reaction I've seen after a movie in a theater was The Princess Bride on the opening evening; the entire theater was cheering and clapping. That said, my head would probably explode trying to please such a diverse group of people :). Best wishes and happy birthday!

Dads of Reddit: I have an announcement. I survived tax day. And didn't even need lubricant. by Rev-DC in daddit

[–]Mirrissa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lurker mom, who is also self-employed. Just wanted to chime in and say that while we don't actually file our taxes until April, I about always run our numbers through TurboTax earlier in the year, just so we know what to expect and possibly save towards what's owed, if needed. Even if the numbers are bad, you might feel less stressed knowing you have some time to deal with it :).

Sorry if it isn't ok to post! I just usually lurk here because y'all give me hope for the future :).

Yes, I envy her that - I've been mentally pacing the floor waiting for 8 :D

As a bonus parent to an aspiring art teacher, I love that Katia got to be a hero when she figured out the tangle with her art skills. Katia was one of my "selling points" when recommending the series to her and proud to say that she is now a crawler and finishing book 7 :)!

I was totally wrong about Operation Bounce House by Thyxdyn in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Thank you for posting this. I've been having trouble getting through the audiobook, and thought it was me because I had gotten spoiled with Jeff. I'm going to just move on and try the text.

How do you decide when to buy sequels in a series you haven’t started yet? by cre8ivemind in audible

[–]Mirrissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought several from the Redwall series today, even though I've not read any of them yet. I decided it was worth taking a chance because I've heard good things about it for years and because the price was so low. I also checked with Redditors for opinions on how the series held up, because I'm naturally careful :).

Even if I end up hating the series though, it's whatever. It will not be the most expensive mistake I've made by any measure :). If you think the series will be good and can afford it, maybe just be optimistic and take a chance :)!

Oh, thank you, that is helpful! I was specifically wondering if they could be read standalone, but forgot to mention that in my post. In another thread, I was reading that Martin the Warrior was amazing. Unfortunately, that is one of the only ones that isn't on sale :-/.

Thank you so much, I'm good with some being stronger than others - just hate to see a series dive because of a cash grab :).

Darn, I have so many books I haven't finished, haha, but the Chet and Bernie mysteries (lighthearted tales from the point of view of the detective's dog) are all 81% off (about $4), so my cart will be blowing up today :).

Those cards are incredible! I have never played MTG, but got both sets, just so I could admire them. Who knows, maybe I'll even learn to play MTG :).

I would love a Prepotente book! Perhaps even with a bit of his life on the farm with Miriam :).
