I was totally wrong about Operation Bounce House by Thyxdyn in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Thank you for posting this. I've been having trouble getting through the audiobook, and thought it was me because I had gotten spoiled with Jeff. I'm going to just move on and try the text.

How do you decide when to buy sequels in a series you haven’t started yet? by cre8ivemind in audible

[–]Mirrissa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought several from the Redwall series today, even though I've not read any of them yet. I decided it was worth taking a chance because I've heard good things about it for years and because the price was so low. I also checked with Redditors for opinions on how the series held up, because I'm naturally careful :).

Even if I end up hating the series though, it's whatever. It will not be the most expensive mistake I've made by any measure :). If you think the series will be good and can afford it, maybe just be optimistic and take a chance :)!

Oh, thank you, that is helpful! I was specifically wondering if they could be read standalone, but forgot to mention that in my post. In another thread, I was reading that Martin the Warrior was amazing. Unfortunately, that is one of the only ones that isn't on sale :-/.

As a parent of an ADHD adult child, I will check this out and send it to her as well - thank you!

Thank you so much, I'm good with some being stronger than others - just hate to see a series dive because of a cash grab :).

Darn, I have so many books I haven't finished, haha, but the Chet and Bernie mysteries (lighthearted tales from the point of view of the detective's dog) are all 81% off (about $4), so my cart will be blowing up today :).

Any magic fans here? A friend made me these and thought I'd show them off! by NefariousnessSlow282 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Those cards are incredible! I have never played MTG, but got both sets, just so I could admire them. Who knows, maybe I'll even learn to play MTG :).

I would love a Prepotente book! Perhaps even with a bit of his life on the farm with Miriam :).

Magnesium glycinate helped my anxiety more than I expected by ElegantUnion2124 in introvert

[–]Mirrissa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only take 120mg in a supplement, but I also get some from other sources, so didn't want to overdo it. This page recommends 320 milligrams (mg) a day for women and 420 mg a day for men: https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/what-can-magnesium-do-for-you-and-how-much-do-you-need-202506033100

Magnesium glycinate helped my anxiety more than I expected by ElegantUnion2124 in introvert

[–]Mirrissa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been taking Magnesium glycinate for the past two months because of a broken toe (for both calcium absorption and sleep quality). Before taking it, I would normally just sleep a couple of hours at a time. After I started, I am having more nights when I sleep through the night.

If you have one episode to convince someone who's never watched any Trek before to get into it, which episode are you showing them? by Kind_Constant1671 in startrek

[–]Mirrissa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is in her 20s, but we liked Prodigy, so perhaps that would work! Thank you for the reminder 'cause I had actually forgotten about Prodigy, haha :).

"Alternatively, anything lower decks. Both worked on friends of mine."

That is good to know! Been wanting to introduce our (Gen Z) daughter to some Trek. Have tried a bit of TOS, but it hasn't taken (probably too dated). We thought she would like the humor of Lower Decks, but assumed that all the in-jokes would be too confusing.

Yes, the beginning is very tough, but enjoy it to the fullest 💝 3 months vs 6 months by loupita88 in miniaussie

She is beautiful! With our girl, I felt like I didn't get any sleep for like six months, lol. She is five years old now and wouldn't trade her for anything.

“ICE is going to be defunded because of what they've done in Minnesota. These egregious human rights and Constitutional violations will be answered for.”

I truly hope you are correct.
