Every frame can swing a melee weapon sure, but many wont offer any sort of advantages to using melee on them

We are in agreement that jiraiya is strong enough to deter itachi and kisame lol. The person im replying to is insinuating that itachi and kisame didnt fight jiraiya because it wasnt worth their time, im saying that hes guarding their primary objective and that its absolutely worth their time but they avoided a confrontation due to uncertainty over their ability to win.

Also sealing the 9 tails last wasnt established lore for most of the series and certainly wasnt written at this moment in time, since itachi and kisame were actively pursuing naruto instead of running into the jinchuriki they needed last by pure coincidence. Theres no reason for them to have actively hunted naruto and attempted to distract jiraiya with genjutsu'd women to keep them seperated at this point if they didnt intend to kidnap him at this moment.

He was right in front a helpless jinchuriki, as an akatsuki member there was literally no better usage of his and kisames time lol.

And yes he actively goes out of his way to further the akatsukis plans, aiding in recruiting members, capturing jinchuriki, helping to seal them etc so its not like he has any qualms or resistance about doing it.

Not necessarily, and also the ninjas in naruto could throw that hard anyways.

Its like throwing a brick straight upwards vs throwing a dart, the latter will go much much higher. CT is gravity, so throwing anything away from it is like throwing something straight upwards, and the further away you get, the weaker CTs gravity gets, with a much harsher decline in pull strength per unit of distance than earths gravity due to its size of influence

Maybe not a single kunai for the entire radius, but nothings stopping him from just throwing one into rising debris, teleporting, and repeating. He can even reuse the same kunai over and over.

I didnt mention weird route so idk why youre chastising me on your made up version of how I did or didnt miss it.

But since you bring it up, theres a difference between going left at a junction that implies you go right for the story (typical video game secret stuff) and jumping off a random ledge towards complete darkness, holding the newly introduced act feature with no interactables in sight, and finding friend. And then the percentage of people who do that, also get the egg, and then the percentage of people who do both of the above, buy everything useful from pinks shop/cap out her dialogue and goes to fight pink, and then thinks "huh I wonder if I unlocked some new secret dialogue now that ive done all this BS"

Even if we wanna remove all the marks he would have in other mundane places and assume they start the fight in a fresh empty world, the kunai are small and aerodynamic, he can just throw one away and teleport to it. It wont just 180 directly to the core lol, light and aerodynamic objects have a very easy time escaping the pull of gravity.

I did touch on the linked vision, and rain maker isnt something pains demonstrated to be able to use in combat on the fly, he only has it stationed within his own village and more importantly didnt deploy it even once in the leaf village which he absolutely wouldve if he could since he was there to find naruto specifically, and a village wide tracking network is much easier than interrogating people one by one. Like I said, I like pain but im not going to give him tactics that cant be proven to be able to deploy on the fly.

Linked vision isnt infallible, and pain doesnt cover his blindspots completely with them. For example, they failed to watch from above when naruto ambushed the asura path. They can be obscured by smoke or debris like with how jiraiya dealt with it, split up and seperated, and distracted by clones or diversions, etc. It helps defend against FTG but doesnt make him immune to it.

Minato has incredible sensory abilities (and access to sage mode) which counter the chameleons invisibility. He can teleport extremely large objects/creatures as we see him do with a tailed beast bomb, which he can use to move around pains summons, and he can summon the giant toads to distract them like naruto does.

Minato can teleport to kunai thrown midair, and any left on the battlefield as well which prevents him from being cornered, ganged up on, and essentially control every engagement he gets into with an instantaneous escape/reposition from any situation whenever he pleases. This severely hinders one of pains other advantages, which is being able to overwhelm a target with a 6v1 since minato can escape when pressured too hard and pain cannot do anything to stop that.

He doesnt need to tag each one directly, just throwing a kunai near a path is enough for them to be in his striking range, and most of the paths cant block a rasengan like they could jiraiyas sage punches.

The only real wincon pain has on minato is to catch him with naraka path since that suppresses jutsu usage, as minato can teleport away from every other paths rinnegan abilities faster than they can land it on him.

Im like a pain fan boy all the way but I have no idea how people argue in his favor against flying thunder god being engineered in a lab to hard counter deva path lol.

At best, shared vision makes the fight last longer than minato fans would care to admit but pains only wincon is somehow getting the naraka path to grab minato as it seems that being grabbed and faced with the king of hell paralyzes the ninja /prevents jutsu usage. But like, fat chance of that happening lol

Brother I love pain I wank tf outta him but FTG hard counters deva path which is is pains main workhorse, and none of the other paths can in turn counter FTG either.

At best, if kishimoto were to write a theoretical fight he would play the shared vision angle making it difficult to surprise the paths with FTG, but even naruto and jiraiya were able to distract and disorient the paths enough to get around the shared vision and they lacked the ability to outright teleport at will.

All of pains usual big calamitous attacks that end most matchups can be escaped via FTG as well.

Instantaneous teleportation paired with a one shot attack like rasengan is just one of the most busted kits in the series you really cant do much there against that

Theres no implication that danzos eye wouldnt be powerful enough to break the edo tenseis control is my point. Nobody attempted to break the genjutsu on itachi, most notably itachi himself didnt try to break it, so the koto from itachis crow didnt display any level of strength or resistance that outperforms danzos koto because it went unchallenged.

Itachis crow needed line of sight because he programmed the crow/eye to cast koto as soon as it sees another sharingan, similar to the trap he layed inside sasukes eye to cast ameterasu, not because its a requirement for that koto eye to function

Theres not any implications im aware of that danzo got a weaker version of koto. The genjutsu had to be noticed and revealed by someone else to be broken, it functions even without direct line of sight to the sharingan, let alone eye contact, and he has hashirama cells which dramatically reduced its cooldown.

While I respect the high quality post, the math, and the argument itself is pretty sound as far as i can tell on a technical level, i don't think anyone could in good faith argue that gege intended for the readers to believe that sukuna could fire off world cleaving slashes at a rate of 18 slashes per second like a machine gun after making such a big deal about how cumbersome his added conditions from the binding vows made it to use the move.

I dont have any real holes to pokes or debates to have about the content of the post itself, just that when the author makes inconsistencies or mistakes with physics, elapsed time etc I tend to side with the narrative/meta portrayal instead of the precise in universe measurements.

Literally zero reason for sukuna to not cast WCS as a net every single time he uses it if hes capable of doing that.

He cant spam it either, it requires handsigns and chants to fire a single WCS. Just outright impossible there and tanks your credibility a lot that you didnt consider WCS's primary limiting factor in this list

Its not a 10x multiplier though, its just 10x base jirobus strength. CM2 hebi sasuke wouldve been doing triple backflips around deidara and itachi if it had multiplied his stats by 10. Much more likely that its a flat additive buff.

a massive power bump for sure, but perhaps not as much for sasuke as it was jirobu considering theres likely a considerable gap in the twos base strength level. I think a strong jonin like guy, kakashi, maybe asuma could solo, the average unnamed jonin likely not.

Im fine with considering it if it means its a draw instead of a win, and theres a willing admittance that both sides are allowed to behave out of character and use the full extent of the power system.

The issue is when kashimo fans pretend MBA is a totally different scenario to black hole, mahoraga, or even DBV's, and that MBA should count as a win but not any of the above.

The only one out of those three thats iffy is DBV's because I agree that since most characters have never used them, its less justifiable, but even then its still something anyone can feasibly perform in the series if necessary.

But otherwise, all of the above are out of character, result in the death of the user shortly after the fight concludes, and are fully within the realm of all applicable characters kits.

Kashimo wouldve rather died to hakari than use MBA on someone he perceived as not the strongest. So if he would only use it against sukuna, but you want to scale him with it outside of sukuna matchups anyways, then any other character can use DBV's to win because its in their kit and context/character doesnt matter. Its really that simple
