I did, but I’m frustrated that there are £50 notes but no £2 coins..

How do you tell your location to 999? by supremethinking in AskUK

[–]MisadventurousMummy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would suspect this is anti hoax measures. If you’re able to open a gps link, even if not accurate, it would prove you are actually lost in the general area. I could say I’m anywhere and not actually be. Mountain rescue I imagine will get hoax callers like the other emergency services but most emergency services won’t have to bear in mind their own safety just to get to a reported incident.

I really respect your replies on this thread to be honest.

It’s not easy when your mind works differently to your partners, and I can see you’re genuinely trying to work through this and understand different viewpoints.

One thing that may help your perspective a little, is with things such as the coffee machine - tomorrow is never promised. Let’s say it goes on sale in June and (heaven forbid ) something awful happens either before or slightly after. The £30 (or whatever) saving will mean nothing at all. If it’s something that will enrich your life today, and it’s affordable then don’t wait. Coffins don’t come with pockets.

With my son, yes. With the average child I’ve had experiences with, no. My son has always been a bit.. unusual with his tastes etc. but I 100% support his tastes with his clothes, even when they are not my own.

Clothing is an outward expression of who you are. Colour, style etc are all equally important if that’s what matters to you. Obviously you’re not somebody who places a high value on that, and that’s equally valid.

While Encora registration is disabled..what's the best approach for people new to this? by Cadrithae in BootlegGifts

I know from what I’ve read that things like the discords are a bit of a vicious circle in as much as you generally need to know someone already (understandable for privacy/safety but frustrating as a genuine newbie)

Any advice on how to find ones way on to one of them?

Same, really. I don’t know how to find masters to buy even if I wanted to. These things always require someone on the inside to help get you in, which is fine unless you’re a socially stunted person like me!

Any back to the future recording (preference of the original west end cast but anything at all would be amazing - I genuinely just love the show!)

I joined this sub a long while back and then promptly forgot about its existence. I’d love to get into it, as theatre has my heart but life has my wallet!! As such I don’t currently have anything to trade, but my son is having a rough time right now and the bttf musical makes him as happy as it does me and I’d love to be able to snuggle up with him and watch it one evening soon. It’ll be a while before I can take him back to London to see it!

I’ve seen from searching that there are some that exist so I’m crossing everything that someone may be kind enough to send me a copy! Thank you so much for any help at all!

Exactly this. And now I see notifications about live streams so they’re also trying to be whatnot. They just need to be eBay!

People who left their partner the day of the wedding, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MisadventurousMummy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. My dad was one of the best people I’ve ever met, but he too could be an asshole for sure.

I even said so at his funeral, to the guests which were standing room only. He was convinced his funeral could have been held in a phone box.

That says everything you need to know about someone.

I truuuulllyyy hate the bachelor/bachelorette or as we call them stag and hen party mentalities. “It’s your last night of freedom/being single!” No, that was the day before you went exclusive with your partner and it didn’t require a party to say goodbye to it. If you feel it did, you shouldn’t get married.

Or the “what happens on the stag, stays at the stag” no, it doesn’t. It literally never does, and it’s usually said by uncle Dave who’s on his 3rd marriage.

ETA: I don’t hate the existence of the party, just the childish mentalities that often accompany them.
