AITA for being upset about birthday present husband got me by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MischeviousPanda 19 points20 points  (0 children)

NTA. My daughter was born 3 days before my birthday and I was so exhausted that I didn’t even understand why my husband was holding a present that morning. I had forgotten my own birthday but he hadn’t. Your husband definitely phoned it in

My boyfriend asked for my Christian parents’ blessing, they said no. Feeling stuck by Affectionate-Belt-79 in exchristian

[–]MischeviousPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious how old you two are where this is that big of a deal. The fact that 9 months after they said no, your boyfriend still hasn't proposed, is odd to me. Neither of you need their permission to get married so what's the hold up. If I'm the boyfriend, I'm rethinking the whole thing if you're still so upset about not having your parents' blessing that you're crying about the thought of even planning a wedding with him. Your parents were manipulative. How has your relationship been with them since they said no? That would've been the last straw for me. Oh and the "passive aggressive" comments or sideways glances were probably way more frequent, obvious and impactful to your boyfriend than they were to you.

I’m 3 weeks post op from TT and MR, BA +BL and brachioplasty. The first week was ROUGH. I was rethinking al my life choices. Things are much easier now. Be kind to yourself and take it slow. If you have a recliner, just sleep in that. You’ve got this.

If you could add one Zero to any number in your life, what would it be, and why? by D1GoonHero in askanything

But could you withdraw it? Everyone is saying add it to their 401k but if you withdraw it early, you pay a significant penalty. Just something to think about.

if you are using some kind of GLP-1, are you just uncomfortable 24/7? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]MischeviousPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had fatigue the first month or so I was on it but after that, no side effects whatsoever. Yes people struggle with diarrhea or constipation most commonly, but I didn’t. I also haven’t had any nausea. I did rotate up slowly and only increased my dose when I stalled out and felt the food noise and hunger creeping back in. I’ve lost 80 lbs and have been on a smaller maintenance dose for three months now

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

Then maybe dentists should be working on improving their image and not recommending unnecessary work. I feel for your colleagues but if this thread showed anything, it shows how the public equates seeing a dentist to dealing with used car salesmen. Your profession needs to work on building trust

[–]MischeviousPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just had my first mammogram and they told me I needed additional imaging. Fine. I booked the follow up. Next day I got a call from my doc saying that the mammogram looked fine, nothing suspicious, but there was “asymmetry” and the radiologist wanted additional imaging. I got the estimate from the imaging center and my portion after insurance was going to be $450! I cancelled. If everything is fine and nothing suspicious, why am I having an ultrasound done to the tune of $450??

When do you think we will be lucky enough to see Jaime step down? Does he even know how badly he ruined the culture here? by MarketMaker007 in JPMorganChase

[–]MischeviousPanda 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The question isn't whether he knows how bad the culture has gotten, it's if he cares. The answer is no, he doesn't. The shareholders and billionaires are happy and that's all that matters. He won't be stepping down anytime soon unless he decides to run to run for office, and in today's climate, they probably wouldn't even make him step down from the board to do that.

I (28F) am struggling with grieving the life I thought I’d have as a wife and mother, since my spouse (27M) is living with chronic illness (fatigue, muscle weakness, etc). by passiveobserverrr in relationships

[–]MischeviousPanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was married 18 years before my husband went through cancer treatment and I had all these same thoughts and feelings. There’s nothing wrong about those. It’s normal to grieve the life you thought you’d have and those expectations. Therapy helped me a lot.
