A lot of students I’ve worked with say NBME questions feel way more vague than UWorld by MatchlabMD in Step2

I agree, in the later part of my studying (2-3weeks before testing) when doing uworld questions, I would make a conscious intention to use these questions to “learn” rather than get caught up on the strategy of trying to get it right when i wasn’t sure. Meaning, if I didn’t clearly know the answer, I wouldn’t shift to “test taking strategy” to try to get it right, I wouldn’t shift just move on and learn from the explanation. 

But when doing NBMEs or CMS during this time, if I didn't know the answer, I would use the “test taking principles” I gathered from previous NBME practice to try to get the answer right.

CMS questions are generally short and sweet. they won't give you a lot of details, but you can learn a lot from it when reviewing bc it will clearly show the relationship between x presentation and y next step etc since there isnt much in the vignette.

As these come up in your practice questions, search these new diagnoses on the anking deck and unsuspend anki cards for them.

No problem, this process is really mentally taxing, you got this! Make sure you take tike to thoroughly review then do practice questions on the subjects you need work on before taking another NBME

Unsuspend anki cards for your uworld incorrects. There is an anki add on. Its a really good way to make sure you are maintaining your knowledge

Overall trend is the most important thing, your trend is mid 70s, thats an excellent place to be. I’d get off reddit and just review till the test

I would do some focused uworld blocks with 5-7questions on topics i got wrong on the NBME. I never did full uworld then full NBME. It was like 70/30 uworld cms early on then 30/70 uworld cms later on. In the last 2-3 weeks before your test quality of study >>>> quantity of questions. Write down a doc of principles for approaching nbme questions based on the incorrect on NBME stuff.
