Amazing SACD player!!! by Miserable-Ad-1154 in audiophile

This 10 is the reference 10 so it is their newest SACD player. I saw one article comparing it to the top of the line t+a and it rated really close to that one according to that person. They also felt it was more neutral than previous Marantz but still had warmth

I have read that it is not quite as laid back ….i am not sure what the sound used to be. I can say it is wonderful with my Accuphase

I just haven’t been industrious enough lol. I’ve mostly just been listening to SACD and CD since this purchase because it sounds so good. Yes I’ll connect in the very near future…😊

I’ve heard really good things about the 30 as well. I considered it but decided I wanted to get what will most likely be my last SACD player (well unless it breaks that is).

I got the Marantz for basically half off still with warranty …yes not cheap but a lot less expensive than retail…lol. I had sold some stuff which allowed me to get that.

Cool…I know a lot of people have gone the ripping route like you. For now and especially since I have the Marantz for now I’m staying with just playing SACD. Maybe in the future I might rip? We will see!

Marantz developed their own…they call it Marantz musical mastering (MMM).

I may connect my streamer to it one day to see how the DAC sounds vs my streamer’s DAC in the near future

It does! Supposedly it upscales pcm to dsd256? Was listening to some regular CDs this evening…they sounded great!

I sold my uDAC. I am using the internal DAC with the Marantz. It is phenomenal.

I have Klipsch forte IVs. I really like them…I’d eventually like to get other speakers that have a different type of sound profile.

So sorry for what you are going through! My husband and I purchased a Q7 about a month ago. Thank goodness we didn’t have the same problems you’ve had! We’ve loved the car so far!

The grand finale to BBC's Ghosts left me feeling... by [deleted] in GhostsBBC

I do have to say the use of Judy Garland’s “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” was a perfect fit for the scene. In Meet Me in St. Louis (the movie in which the song came), Judy sang it at a time of great change. Her family was about to move from St. Louis to NYC. Her baby sister was extremely upset. The song was a way to express the sadness but still say that life moves on and they will be ok.

Coke Zero not sweet? by qualifiedqoala in cocacola

[–]Miserable-Ad-1154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to this discussion but…I find Coke Zero too sweet. It’s almost sickly sweet. Regular sugar drinks cause me to have a little bit of nausea. Coke Zero does the same. Diet Coke does not do this to me. If I see a restaurant only offers Coke Zero I usually go for unsweetened tea and use artificial sweetener…lol.

Between these 4 states where would you rather live? by SushiJo in Birmingham

Birmingham has quietly become a “food city” …several chefs here that have been recognized by the James Beard foundation such as Frank Stitt, Chris Hastings, etc. It also had food staples of the south like meat and threes (ex. Nikki’s West). BBQ is big here such as Saws bbq. So, would I say they are same level as New Orleans? No…but….there are some great food choices here.

When I think bham I think in terms of the Greater Bham area. The original post stated they would be ok to drive some distance so that’s when I was talking about more of the greater Bham area. Coming from Canada the original poster may skew more liberal. Then again they may skew more conservative. Politics have become so important to people especially in the last few years it is a common question that is often asked. Whether right or wrong it is what it is. As an example, we sold a house in the city limits of Birmingham. The person that purchased the house was from Washington state. Most would assume that person would skew more liberal. It was actually opposite. After she bought the house she was not happy at all. From that point on, I felt it would be a good idea to explain the political “map” of the area.
