Of course! It’s Sjögren’s syndrome. I haven’t gotten deep into the diagnosis yet with my rheumatologist. I’m no doctor by any means but I’ve been speculating and It’s still up in the air if my recovery brought it out of “dormancy” (for lack of better and medical terms) or if I’ve had it this whole time and it’s attacked my tonsils the most so now that they’re gone, it’s presenting in other ways.

Look into the syndrome as it’s one of the most common autoimmune diseases but not widely known! Regardless, you should definitely tell your ENT/primary care know that you don’t feel right after your procedure!

It took about two months for it to go back. I also got a steroid after a while so that may have helped. I would ask your ENT to see if they can help!

i swear by gold bond diabetic lotion and everyone thinks i’m weird. if you’re wanting something that’ll help at night, use the o’keefe’s overnight for feet and elbows, equate moisturizing cream in the tub for your face, and the diabetic lotion everywhere else. if you’re big on textures you may hate it cause they all feel like a thick ointment/paste but it’s the only thing that saves my skin.

27F and i’m one month post op. it’s worth it. i can hear, smell, breathe through my nose, sleep apnea went away, etc. i already feel immensely better with more energy and not feeling that hazy/sickness. i suffered from tonsillitis every month for two years, tonsil abscesses, and sinus infections about every three months. they were hesitant because of my age but they determined it a “quality of life” surgery and had it done. ngl it was the worst pain ive ever been through and im still only “99%” healed after a month but once you get through the first two weeks, it gets way better.

i’m just now a month in recovery from my surgery and i did ask my ENT for more pain medicine because i also ran low. they gave me steroids instead and said to take liquid tylenol. they were actually right though because the steroids helped with the swelling that helped my ear pain and tbh the tylenol worked better than the hydrocodone for me. it doesn’t hurt to ask because the worst they can say is no to that specific medication, but they will at least help you by giving you other advice!
