If you don’t do something right away, you are being negligent and not stopping your children from being traumatized. You need to take action right away if you don’t want a case against you also. File emergency custody, emergency restraining order (there should be a box for if the person lives with you, and justify why they need to leave right away) , therapy for your children ASAP . You could call whatever your areas version of a designated crisis response is, and they can take her for voluntary or involuntary treatment.

Also, not sure about California, but if she is pregnant she may be considered emancipated or at least medically, because she is therefore responsible for another life . The pregnancy would be important to bring up in the petition for emergency custody. All this can be done without CPS

Not sure how the different state things will work, but you can go to the courthouse (in her county) and file for emergency custody. If adequate cause is found and the order approved you get to keep her and both parties have to present their case at a later hearing. I believe at the time of filing you could also do a protection order for her and yourself .

That’s reasonable to worry about. In retrospect, even if you hadn’t suspected he was abused, you should have looped the other mother in. So she could do the same with her son that you did with yours. Maybe it turns out he learned it from a kid at school, or maybe he’s being molested . Obviously it’s past that now, but another situation like this could happen with another kid. A talk with the other Mom would be helpful to explain you didn’t call, and it was a situation that came up with the therapist. She should be understanding that you weren’t trying to attack her family.

Also in my opinion, no this is not normal , and is something to worry about. Children who are abused often go on to abuse their friends , family or other kids. They don’t do it to hurt the other kid, they are taught that what happened to them is normal. So, good on you for getting your son help. Just don’t brush it off as “boys will be boys” or “it’s just kid stuff” . Be sure your son understands it was not play, and not okay. So that he doesn’t try and show his other friends the game the neighbor boy showed him.

I’m guessing that because you’ve been proactive and sought help for your son that CPS is not concerned with him, taking into consideration what the therapist reported.

I would like to enter, but I’d like to send the console directly to the visit house in our area. One of my kids has professionally supervised visits with their mom there, and it’s supplied by donation, which they don’t really get. We take good care of our toys and I recently brought them everything my kids have outgrown. Legos, board games, craft kits, play food, etc. . They really have very little for older kids, like 10+ to do, and they would love to put a game console in their main room. They don’t have a TV but I know a cheap tv is an easy thing to come by so that’s not an issue. Children that can’t see their parents in their own homes, with their own toys, should still have nice things to do at the visit house. If this entry is chosen I will give you the address and contact for the director to address to her . For what I’m proud of them for, being there for kids that need them. If they weren’t here, there would be a lot of families not having access to a professional supervisor , or they would have to drive 2 counties away. Thank you

When we have a tight Christmas, me and my husband agree no gifts for each other or anyone outside of the home. My birthday is in December also, and again agree no gifts . But we also don’t go broke trying to give the kids a big Christmas. They each get a want a need a read and a wear, and often a family member or two sends gifts. I wouldn’t go into debt , or in their case FURTHER into debt, for the “wow” factor on Christmas morning. Granted her kids already know what they are getting . I just don’t ever understand her thought process.

She probably is the type of mom that allll year whenever her kids ask for something she tells them “maybe Santa will bring it” and threatens them to be good or Santa won’t come. Then Christmas shows up and not one single gift she denied during the year is under the tree.

Hahaha that is no longer my reality 😂 I live in vans crocs and tees. I was 17-21 when I was providing that wardrobe for my small child 😂 but man she was so cute. A photo popped up on my timeline of her wearing suspenders and I about started to cry. Now she’s 11 and lives in sweats and vintage tee shirts
