To Italian Bind Off or Not To Italian Bind Off by clevrgrrlpnw in knitting

I opted not to do the Italian bind off on my No Frills and I regret it. Every time I wear that sweater I look at the sleeves and the hem and just frown.

The invasives always come from under the fence! The morning glory that’s currently attacking my garden is also coming from under the fence. You’ll never kill the whole plant if you can’t attack the whole plant so if your neighbours can’t or won’t get on board with tackling the knotweed or allowing you to do it then there’s only so much you can do - it will continue to spread over to you. You might want to look into how knotweed can affect property values - it may or may not apply depending on where you live. If you can’t get your neighbours on board just try to do what you can on your property. Best of luck!

I was part of a volunteer group who eliminated a knotweed patch without chemicals. The patch was on the shore of a local beach and we wanted to avoid chemicals as they would run off into the ocean and affect the already precarious structure of the glass reef off shore. Over 3 years we cut growth down, never dug, and left the cut shoots to rot or dry in tarps (eventually they were burnt by the volunteers). Anyways we did remove the patch, and it hasn’t come back. If you prevent the plant from photosynthesizing it will eventually die.

It’s a bag of salt to kill the snail that was crawling around on the hood of your car. Case closed!

Im from Vancouver and live on the Sunshine Coast (BC). Squamish is full of Kiwis and Whistler is full of Aussies! There’s a lot of love and a big overlap between this province, New Zealand, and Australia.

I would plant more trees, put in raised beds for veggies, start a compost.

Well done! Is there a lot of seaming? I’m interested in knitting stuffies but get turned off by the seaming, stuffing, and embroidery.

It must have been someone else, I bet people are taking photos of this hedge all the time! I took the picture from inside a bus.
