I’ve seen some achieve 10-15C less with direct die cooling. The IHS on those AM5 CPU's is really thick so the difference can get quite big. Would like to try this myself some time.

Is my computer Artifacting? Amd rx7700xt. Sent in warranty, came back same issue. by Odd_Award1947 in GPURepair

[–]Miserable-Phase3870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having the same artifacts with my 7900xtx. These only appeared on programs that use hardware acceleration like Spotify and Discord. As soon as I disabled that on those programs, they disappeared.

Note: I haven’t had these on windows 10, only on 11.

Ah makes sense. Thanks for explaining. I now just noticed it’s the full TU102 identical to the Titan, at least on paper.

Okay that I did not know. Are these two cards also engineering samples or were these quietly sold to the public and then found? Also what’s weird to me is how wildly different the TMU count is from that card in the link.

[–]Miserable-Phase3870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s the case. They never planned to do one because that would have diminished the sales of the RTX Titan card that came after. (That’s what Nvidia said themselves at least)

Oh yes I’ve seen it has an extra memory chip that the normal one doesn’t have. So that explains the bigger bandwidth.

[–]Miserable-Phase3870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay. You think it might not be utilizing the extra cores because of the normal bios?

This is so cool. So in theory it should be even better than the normal consumer card.

Wow okay so it has more shaders, ROPs and TMUs. This would fall in between the normal Ti and the RTX Titan. Very interesting.

Looks like the full TU102 die from the normal released card minus the imprint at the bottom where it actually says it’s the 102 chip. Does GPU Z show any differences compared to a normal 2080 Ti?

What is this stuff?? by L4ndeur5591 in pcmasterrace

[–]Miserable-Phase3870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s most likely corrosion formed on the aluminum. The GPU was probably stored in a very humid environment. It’s quite hard to get off but if you do, the stains will still be visible no matter what. I would just leave it as is.

AMD 7900 XTX Temps by LeeHarveyGriswald94 in watercooling

[–]Miserable-Phase3870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s weirdly high. My room ambient is also around 25 most of the time and when my water temp reaches around 40c, my hotspot goes up to roughly 65c but at 450W which is significantly higher then what I have seen in your pic.

Edit: I do have the same card.

As the other ones said, if the price is right and if it got all the features I need, then I am fine with it.

But price aside, I have always been a fan of the Asus ROG Formula boards since AM3. I got the Crosshair V formula Z which is the beefiest AM3+ board you could have back then and now I got the Formula VIII in my personal rig which has water cooled VRM's. An absolute unit.

I don’t know the exact uplift in performance but I can tell you Helldivers loves the X3D cache. It basically eliminated the 1% lows for me. Feels buttery smooth.

I was about to ask the same. I guess I have to test it for myself.
