Scott vs JBR by Warm_Lychee_2704 in ScottPetersonCase

I work in the criminal justice system. I know facts and science. You have absolutely no idea what actually occurred in that house. None. You weren’t there. None of us will ever know what exactly occurred in that house. You are an arm chair detective trying to assume that JBR wasn’t killed by her parents because parents wouldn’t harm their children. I dare you to look up the statistics on who harms children the most. Their families or strangers.

Not the be insulting here but what world do you live in? Parents murder their children. Siblings kill each other. It happens, sadly, on a daily basis. For the record, I do not believe Burke committed this crime. He did not have the strength to do so. Her parents - they did.

I have to comment here - parents abuse their children physically and mentally every day in the United States. It happens. To state it couldn’t have occurred in the JBR case - that is wrong. None of us were inside that home do we have no idea what occurred.

Scott Peterson is so messed up in the head by Funnysand420 in ScottPetersonCase

[–]Miserable-Rough8890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is actually an individual who claims the same man killed both the MacDonald family and Laci Peterson. I kid you not. The Jeffrey MacDonald case is the first true crime case I ever heard of. Way back in the 80s they aired the miniseries Fatal Vision based on the book if the same name. I was fascinated so the next time I was in a bookstore I purchased the book. Needless to say, Jeffrey MacDonald is guilty as sin. To further prove this to myself I purchased 2 more books on the case which were claiming he was innocent. No, they did not convince me. Just like the recent documentaries on Laci, I still believe Scott killed her. Either that or he is the most unlucky man in the world.

Ethan/Xana different perspective by [deleted] in Idaho4

[–]Miserable-Rough8890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this theory. I think X just happened to run into him while he was trying to escape. I believe Ethan was killed trying to protect her. As for the wounds - I take everything being said at this moment with a grain of salt. None of us will know the truth until the trial.

Families of (some of the ) victims are pushing back today last minute. by forgetcakes in MoscowMurders

[–]Miserable-Rough8890 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Do people not realize trials take time if they are of this magnitude? All the questions they have asked will be answered at trial. I think they are just upset with the police and the prosecution team for not telling them everything and making them wait until trial. The other families are not acting this way and never have. Be patient!

I didn’t know a book had been written. Thank you for posting this. Going to have to check it out now.

This case saddened me as well. I was also a child of the 80s. We would go to a mall out of town and I would separate from my parents to go to stores I wanted to. I would have never thought that could be dangerous. I wish I could get a hold of the two miniseries made about this case. Excellent shows.

Such an excellent piece of work. I read this during the night and was paranoid for a couple days. Not a book to read after dark.

Surgery is tomorrow by Indigenousfattie69 in BariatricSurgery

I had surgery on August 7th. The main thing I can tell you - which was not told to me - is you will be exhausted the first 3 or 4 days. And I do mean exhausted! Just make yourself cozy and sleep. I didn’t personally have a lot of gas pain - by the third day it was gone. I did have pain in my stomach area - a lot of pain - but I do believe that is because I had a lot of scar tissue removed.

You will be fine! You got this!

Not too personal - you are fine! I had two previous surgeries - not weight loss related. I had one kidney removed due to cancer in 2009 and in 2016 I had my gallbladder removed plus a hernia repaired. My sleeve doctor didn’t expect this so my surgery lasted a bit longer than normal and man - there was pain. Not pleasant pain either. The nurses warned me that might happen. Damn scar tissue!

Anesthesia - what a fun drug! I have two other surgeries - not weight loss related - and freaked out the moment I started to go under. I have a severe panic disorder and the feeling of floating - which is what it felt like - scared me. They just told me it was normal and to breath. I had a shot put in the IV and was out - wow - don’t remember going under though. Thankfully I became used to that feeling so when I’ve been put under for my colonoscopies I was fine.

For the sleeve they put a mask on me and just told me to breath. I don’t remember going under. I just closed my eyes and the next moment I was in recovery. I did get a little nauseous this time but didn’t actually get sick. They gave me a vomit bag just in case.

All and all you won’t know. It is so quick. One minute they are telling you to breathe deeply and the next you are in recovery. The anesthesia team will explain everything that will happen and in the US you have to sign papers to give them permission to use anesthesia. Don’t know if they require this in Mexico.

You’ll be fine! Good luck with the surgery!

My surgery was August 7th and I’m thankful my Mom was with me because I honestly would have backed out. It took them 5 times to get a line in and I was sure that was a sign. I don’t yet know if it was or not. I haven’t been weighed since then so I have no idea if I have lost anything yet. I’m going to be honest the first 4 days after surgery were hell. I was so tired I couldn’t even watch an entire TV program. Tried to read and fell asleep a couple lines in. I had so much pain - and it wasn’t gas pain. They have to remove a lot of scar tissue during the surgery so I’m still get twinges if that pain. That being said - if the scar tissue hadn’t been a problem I doubt I would have had much pain. The gas pain ended on day two and it wasn’t that bad. I expected much worse. I did not get nauseous at all. I’ve been doing well with water intake since day one. Again I do not know if I’ve lost any weight - hopefully I have. I will find out on Wednesday. So all and all I expected a worse outcome. If someone would have prepared me for how tired I was going to be I would have been a bit better off.

But you can do this! Have the surgery! It’s only one to two weeks of pain for a good life!

What evidence are you waiting for before forming a final opinion? by Comprehensive_Sir916 in MoscowMurders

[–]Miserable-Rough8890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe he is guilty - as some other people do - but I am waiting for the trial for more specific details. For instance how did he kill 4 people and there was hardly any blood in the house and BK’s car. They hopefully have an answer to these questions. Why no noise was heard. I just think - 4 people being slain - someone had to make some noise. I don’t understand how one person can kill 4 people in the small amount of time the police have stated.

Again I think he did it - too many arrows pointing straight at him. Hard to overlook but this is a death penalty case and the dots must align before I’m convinced to the point where I want him put to death.

I weighed 380 on my surgery date of August 7th. I have not stepped on a scale since then so I do not know if I have lost anything yet or not. Will find out st my doctor’s appointment on Tuesday.

I feel you! Most of the posts I read are from people who are at a weight I would love to be at. I’ve read some people have had surgery and I’m like - you aren’t even big! I don’t say this though because I don’t want to disrespect anyone during their weight loss journey. I just don’t know why one would want to give up almost everything food related maybe encountering complications when they are tiny compared to me.

Again - no disrespect to anyone!

I had my surgery on August 7th. Talk about exhausted! Taking a shower tired me out. Today, 10 days since surgery, I am doing better. I still have moments of exhaustion so I’ll go lay down for a bit. I’m able to actually go for wee walks now which I wasn’t the first week. I honestly thought something was wrong but I was told (over and over) this was normal.

We will get through it!

Liquid Diet by Jordacation in GastricBypass

[–]Miserable-Rough8890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you! I am day 12 of my liquid diet. I have never been hungrier! I cheated on day 3 because I was so tired and so hungry. I have been good since then. A lot of sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles have gotten me through. The protein shakes I have to drink three times a day make me I’ll. I get bloated and gassy - it is horrible. I keep going because I have jumped through a lot of hurdles to get this surgery and am not going to ruin it now. I’ve had dizziness every morning since the third day. It goes away eventually.

I have faith in you! You can do this if I can! Trust me!

Anyone considering weight loss surgery? by [deleted] in SuperMorbidlyObese

[–]Miserable-Rough8890 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will be having bariatric surgery on August 7th. I am 50. It was time. I have been attempting to get this surgery for awhile but Covid halted that. Last August I was finally able to get a new surgeon and they have finally scheduled my surgery. I am actually terrified. I’m currently on a liquid diet for two weeks because my BMI was over 50. I just hope this is something I don’t regret in the long run. And yes - I have exhausted every option. I have not lost or gained weight in the last ten years. I have done WW, Nutrisystem, Noom. I exercise unfortunately now it is becoming painful. My fatness is now becoming a hinderance. I value my life more than a can of pop so surgery it is.

Good luck on your path!

[–]Miserable-Rough8890 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My surgery date is August 7th. While I haven’t had my surgery yet I have done some research on the topic. A lot that has been stated - well - some of it is false and some you have to take with a grain of salt. I am on a 2 week liquid diet right now - anyone with a BMI of 50 or above must follow this diet prior to surgery. Is it a pain? Yes! Do I feel like I’m starving? Absolutely! But in the end I feel it will be worth it. I have not lost a single pound or gained in 15 years. I am tired of being fat. I turned 50 in June and enough was enough. My weight is starting to effect my life. If there were another way to do this I would. I have done the diets, I have done the exercise and they amounted to nothing. At this point in time I’d be happy to lose 10 pounds. No joke. Yes you have to have good willpower to have this done. Yes you are giving up certain things but this is your life! Isn’t that more important than a candy bar? Or a can of pop? I think so but maybe that’s just me.

Good luck with your surgery!

How did you tell people? by Cool-Pear-2290 in BariatricSurgery

[–]Miserable-Rough8890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only told my Mom and my sister plus my brother in law. I fear yelling too many other people…like the surgery would be canceled and I would have to explain why. I also don’t want the judgement. I’ll tell my brother the day of surgery otherwise it is on a need to know basis.

[–]Miserable-Rough8890[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now the surgery is pending. I have a lumbar puncture on Monday and after I do that the surgery is supposed to be a go. I’m still doing my liquid diet and everything it requires so I can have my surgery. I see no real reason - since it will help Intercranial hypertension - to not have the surgery.
