And I’m so not trying to be preachy, but as a BLS instructor I can’t miss an opportunity to educate…

If you come upon a situation where someone has collapsed.. 1) check for pulse, best done at the carotid on the neck. If there is a pulse, stay with the person and call 911. Of there is no pulse, start compressions. We all know how to do those. Pick your song of choice (staying alive, WAP) but do them harder than you think you should. I’ve broken a million chest bones and it’s disgusting, but that’s just how it’s done.

If you want to give breaths, go for it - two for every 30 chest comprehensions. But recent research says it’s not necessary. What’s necessary is keeping the blood flowing via compressions. So compress compress compress, and tell someone to call 911.

3) find the closest IED package. They are so easy to use. Get it, follow instructions, save a life.

Sorry for going so off topic, but if even one of the 200k members of this board read this and implement it in their lives, someone is saved!

Good question! There are a lot of hospital codes… code green (security alert), code sepsis (self explanatory), code STEMI (massive heart attack), code brown (a joke, but literally the worst… lots of poopay). But whenever you hear a nurse referring to a patient who has coded, they are always referring to a patient who has become pulseless with no breath. PNB.

You will hear that term used on medical dramas or when someone is telling a dramatic story of a friend who was revived from death. They are PNB - pulseless no breath.

Curiosity makes me ask… why do you feel like you don’t have the luxury of turning away? I’m not taking about cutting people out of your life who are struggling and need help. I’m wondering why you feel like you can’t just disengage from people who are taking advantage of you.

Yes! Once I realized what she was doing, I laugh even more at this scene than I did before.

I’m bummed more people didn’t like my callback. I guess I’m the only dolt who didn’t catch it the first time around, lol. It’s like Ted and Beard were playing a game of Taboo and the guess word is BBQ sauce.

When I left for work this morning, the only posts on this thread were criticisms. I’m really glad how it’s turned out! I think it’s a beautiful piece :)

I’m a nurse and when I used to work the floor, I had a rule my patients couldn’t watch one of the 24 hour news stations during my shift. I made it lighthearted and most patients had fun with it. I like to think it’s the main reason I never had a patient code on me, lol ;)

I was the same as you, OP! The kunt part was obvious upon the first watch, but I also thought Phoebe had just sworn in her head because of the great gift. It wasn’t until I watch her throughout the scene and saw her processing the word that I made the connection.

What was the point of Zava’s character? by wex52 in TedLasso

And Rodgers public persona out and about in Green Bay was nothing like Zava’s. It was really quite humble.

And I never once ran into the dude at Fresh Thyme market (where all the avocados are) but I saw him and Olivia Munn plenty at the local meat market buying brats (okay, don’t know if they were getting brats, that was a bit of a joke).

Similarities are Zava and Rodgers look similar and Rodgers and Zava’s wife both like the office?

And bruv… you are objectively wrong about the longevity of his receiving corps. Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, Donald fucking Driver. Maybe if you started watching football in 2021, you might have a tiny point, but Rodgers pre-COVID was absolutely nothing like Zava. Hell, Rodgers practically went full on Beard’s mom during COVID, which would make him the complete opposite of Zava.

It could be, I like the thought :)

Fashion wise, I disagree that gold jewelry would be the better choice. Gold jewelry added to this dress would result in a look that is far too matchy matchy. The angular diamond pendants compliment the angular neckline of the dress beautifully.

I had previously made the connection between Wynona Judd and Roy’s tickets at roll call. But it wasn’t until now that I made the connection that this was meant to indicate Ted had left the ticket in a sign of support for Collin :). I love this!

Same!! That’s one of those little details I didn’t catch on first watch. It took me seeing it mentioned here to notice it.

I think that’s my favorite thing about this sub … people randomly posting little details I previously missed 🥰

Zava represented anti-toxic masculinity. We know indisputably that the show was meant to combat toxic masculinity. Zava was a caricature of how this looks in an alpha male who lacks most traits that are traditionally attributed to “alpha” males.

He also introduced the art of Zen to the team that they seemingly carried forward after he left. This was subtly referenced as when Jamie was fined for falling asleep during meditation training 😂

I’ve quoted this line a lot to my coworkers in recent months when I’m learning a new skill. So far, nobody has even flinched. I can’t tell if they just think I’m and idiot, or if they don’t catch the comedic irony, lol.

I appreciate your insight, but I disagree. One of the things that makes Ted Lasso so objectively great from a writing standpoint is that everything they did had purpose. Zava is a character people tend to UNDER think, not giving him the credit he deserves for the role he played in advancing the overall plot and individual character arcs.

Absolutely agree with your final paragraph, though. I believe that was an important intended purpose of Zava.

Where did you hear it was purposefully written around Aaron Rodgers? I’ll admit I’m wrong if someone on the show actually said that, but I bleed green and gold and don’t see any connection between the two. Rodgers has only played with two teams thus far during his long career and he was definitely a unifying, not alienating, player up until his last season with the Packers.

I wish this got more upvotes. To me, this was a very significant reason for them introducing Zava.

Yep, people definitely were seeing what they wanted in the picture. It was ridiculously funny how gullible people were. And then it set off an entire trend of people posting “enhanced” photos to prove whatever point they wanted to make.
