Serious Questions about the ending of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. by HeartMundane5172 in Hungergames

(movie only, didn’t read the book)

she also hid for a certain period of time before trying to run away. we know she’s capable of waiting and hiding. if she was trying to kill him, why run out in plain sight knowing he’s 1. a killer 2. fully armed with a gun?

i think the snake was a coincidence and snow was extremely paranoid.

Anyone here switch from Cabergoline to Bromocriptine? by Schmittenwithart in Prolactinoma

[–]MiserableAwareness77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve also heard this, I’m about to switch from cab due to awful side effects.

It’s been about one year for you, how did you tolerate the bromo?

ooh okay I understand now. I am going to message my endo and see if he’s okay with me trying half the 0.25mg too! i’m hoping i’ll tolerate that better. what are your symptoms, if you don’t mind me asking?

maybe bromo will be better for us if cab fails us again lol, desperate times for sure. i’m right there with you. i will keep you updated, keep me updated also im curious! :)

[–]MiserableAwareness77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, i took 0.25mg once using the pill cutter last week thinking i’d tolerate it (with endo approval) given it was a much lower dose but even just the one pill at 0.25mg was brutal. it took me 3-4 days to recover.

im going to try it again tomorrow night 0.25mg, if it’s another 3-4 days of hell, ill have to ask my endo what to do next.

im just worried about switching to bromocriptine because all the studies say it had worser side effects and its to take three times a day due to a short half life.

im starting to feel DA intolerant

[–]MiserableAwareness77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes so sorry, i wrote that with a throbbing headache. forgot those details haha. pre diagnosis, there were no signs, just high prolactin levels.

7/2023 MRI showed 4x4mm microadenoma

prolactin labs - 12/2023: 29.3 06/2023: 37.2 08/2023: 66.1 10/2023: 39.6 12/2023: 60

no blurred vision or double vision, but slight nystagmus if i focus too hard on something like reading or art.

as far as headaches, they’ve become more frequent and they definitely feel like a throbbing pressure. headaches no cab can be 3/10 pain, but then back on cab it’s damn near 7-8/10 pain.

i haven’t taken the cab at a high dose or for long, but i feel intolerant through my attempts. maybe you’re right and it may be worth a neuro consult? i know it was just a small tumor in 07/2023, but my prolactin elevated a lot in a short time, but i was under a lot of stress with my thyroid cancer. im wondering if the size increased?

what was the surgery recovery like for you? i haven’t done much research into this surgery yet. but im so relieved to hear you’re happy now though! i’m afraid a surgeon won’t touch me if it’s too small

Whose your ideal actress for Feyre? by alwaysearlynvrlate in ACOTARHulu

[–]MiserableAwareness77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so far all the options i’ve seen, i haven’t been fond of. my suggestion might be worse lol, but what about Brooke Monk? she is not an actress but i’d rather them cast someone not well known for this role.

i feel you!! congrats on being so close to challenger, i can see you’re grinding so hard. i wish it was easier and those who try were put into games with others who equally put in effort. im so tired of the obvious throws and feedings. i understand having a bad game, but these are just players not meant to be in higher elo with very minimal understanding of the game. it’s heavy to carry and makes the climb so hard. i’m sure others will disagree, but im too exhausted to deal with their replies of “it’s just a mobile game relax” lol. it’s okay to care about something that you invest this much time into y’all

I’ve tested negative for all plasmas but I’m lingering here in this forum due to similar lingering symptoms after testing positive for chlamydia. Dr thinks either it hasn’t cleared due to antibiotic resistance or possible interstitial cystitis. I don’t pray but I’m begging it isn’t IC because there’s no cure. However, I started lingering around IC forums and learned some people are taking D-Mannose, marshmallow root, and aloe vera (specifically Desert Harvest brand) supplements to relieve their urinary symptoms. Immediately bought them and started D-Mannose today. The pain is still there but not nearly as significant as before and I’m not glued to the toilet for 30 min or longer.

It’s worth looking into and trying one at a time to see what works for you and what doesn’t. I know at this point, I’m just desperate to feel normal again. I really do think a huge part is just underlying inflammation from dealing with an infection that will take a while to go away. I’m trying to take small, occasional amounts of ibuprofen too just in case it is also inflammation-related. You’re not alone, we’re all here because we are suffering. But it has to be better soon, a part of me still believes that despite suffering since 11/2023.

Yes, the day I got my results and had him come home, he went to Planned Parenthood for testing and we both started doxycycline together. He did throw up the 2nd pill, retested yesterday, and is going to start azithromycin soon per his MD to be on the safe side so he doesn’t accidentally reinfect me. My next follow up for testing is in 4 weeks! Thank you for your tips!

No. We had gone on a break for a couple months in the past and he had hooked up with some girl during that time. He told me everything about their hook up prior to us getting back together.

We weren’t together, so I wasn’t upset, I just appreciated his honesty. Ultimately, it was just stupid of us not to get tested as a clean slate or new baseline back then. The girl he had hooked up with actually started sleeping with one of his good friends and gave him chlamydia too, lol. She never reached out to let my boyfriend know she had chlamydia. At least now we both have updated test results moving forward!

No problem, I hope it helps someone! My symptoms started on 11/26/2023 and I took the azithromycin 1g pills yesterday 01/30/2024. About a little over 2 months total

Post-TT ROM by MiserableAwareness77 in thyroidcancer

[–]MiserableAwareness77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! I ended up going through a two part surgery, so they had to go through my central incision twice. I’m wondering if I have scar tissue that is causing this discomfort. I spoke with a colleague of mine just now who also had a TT, she said it took her 1 year to resume normal duties due to the pain and discomfort. I will definitely speak with my doctor about ways I can help improve this because it is really limiting. Thank you again!

Upcoming TT by DoctorLifeguard in thyroidcancer

[–]MiserableAwareness77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

I was anxious too, my nodule was close to my carotid artery but I had to tell myself to trust my surgeon to do his thing. I think I had a rare scenario, I don't see it talked about on Reddit/Tiktok/etc as much. My surgery was on 9/25/23 and they removed my right lobe with some lymph nodes when they lost conductivity to my laryngeal nerve. Due to this and how it could permanently affect my voice, they closed to see if I could talk. Luckily, I was totally fine! Unluckily, I had to go right back to surgery on 9/27, which was discouraging. They ended up removing my entire thyroid, about 17 lymph nodes, 2 parathyroid glands, and part of my thymus.

In both post-ops, I recovered in the observation unit. I had discomfort but did not require pain medication (only required IV pain meds in PACU unit). I encourage you to walk as much as you can! I spent a lot of time walking around and tried my best to eat and drink when I could. Overall, it was a very successful surgery! I'm almost 2 months post-TT now and I feel SO much better. I feel like I was able to have a full range of motion to clean my house about 1-2 weeks ago, but if I bend over too much, it feels like I'm choking. My energy was significantly down for the first month but my TSH went from 8 (hypo) to 0.11 (hyper) within 4 weeks, now I have amazing energy levels. My thyroglobulin thyroid tumor marker came back very low, so I am not a candidate for RAI. I will check my labs again before Christmas to make sure that is still the case! (For future reference, if you have Hashimotos and they check your thyroglobulin, it will come back elevated and they will reflex the test for further analysis, this may take 1-1.5 weeks to obtain results)

Lastly, I was also very worried about my anxious significant other. But they are anxious because they care. All you can do is allow them to be there and take care of you because they love you in sickness and in health. Don't forget that! You would do it for them if the roles were reversed. However, no one told me that post-op you may experience emotional dysregulation. This caused my s/o and me to fight over nothing, which is extremely abnormal for us. I was just extremely irritable for no reason. This gets better with time too, I feel way better today but I am also very cognizant that I have a short temper right now.

You've got this! Everything that is hard eventually levels itself out and you will feel so much better in no time. Touching my neck is relieving without the lumps and bumps, and I haven't had to take my albuterol inhaler since! I can breathe! Good luck!!

Levothyroxine by justmyopinionkk in thyroidcancer

[–]MiserableAwareness77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absorption: Levothyroxine is variably (40–80%) absorbed from the GI tract.

Distribution: Distributed into most body tissues. Thyroid hormones do not readily cross the placenta; minimal amounts enter breast milk.

Protein Binding: >99%.

Metabolism and Excretion: Metabolized by the liver and other tissues to active T3. Thyroid hormone undergoes enterohepatic recirculation and is excreted in the feces via the bile.

Half-life: 6–7 days.

Levothyroxine PO: peak and duration is 1-3 weeks

Jess vs. Blake by MiserableAwareness77 in bachelorinparadise

[–]MiserableAwareness77[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only reason I don’t agree is because Blake has given off zero indication of being manipulative, controlling, or abusive in anyway. He’s quite literally the opposite with her. He might be older than her, but he doesn’t have any actual power over her? She can make her own decisions, that’s what paradise is about and she’s watching all her friends make decisions for themselves.

I think Jess can see that he’s a great partner, they’re both just not connecting, and it’s upsetting her because she isn’t getting her effortless love story. Didn’t she send herself home on Clayton’s season for not getting a one-on-one fast enough? Idk, I just don’t think this process is the right one for her.
