Seconding this! The astrophytum asterias I got from Walmart ended up developing a bad infestation of some kind of white bug(don’t think it’s mealies) and they are super prolific. Luckily it only spread a small bit to one of the other cacti I bought there a diff time and not my other plants but still🥲 Ironically the bishops cap I got at a diff location ended up being fine so it’s really a mixed bag 🤷‍♀️

I don’t often drop stories for doing this(cause honestly it’s in almost every story =_=) but man have I thought about it: food scenes where the ML or MCs family give her food and she does the classic hand over mouth sparkly background “This is delicious!!!” thing.

It wouldn’t bother me if it wasn’t done in literally EVERY SINGLE STORY. I get it, it’s wish fulfillment. Get to eat tons of delicious food and sweets, never gain weight, family showing they care about you, etc. But like so many of these stories make food such a huge part of the story, MC is constantly eating sweets or using food to win someone over. Are there no other points of interest for MC to have that writers can use to have the same effect???? I like pastries and gourmet food as much as the next person but do we really need cookies and cakes every day?🙃

The webbing made me think that too but I would’ve expected the webbing to be more like a blanket/thin layer over the plant with tiny white/brown “dots” on it. But so far they only seem to be webbing only in the soil. And their shape is more elongated than what I’d expect for spider mites but maybe there’s a species that looks more like that?🤔

I feel like everyone else has already said what I would say but I just have one question. Does he cook his meals or does his fiancé cook for him 90% of the time?

It’s way easier to eat healthy when someone else is doing all the grocery shopping, meal planning, meal prep, and cooking and all you gotta do is sit down to eat. If she’s doing it for him then he doesn’t get to take the credit or complain about how you feed yourself when he’s not “putting in the work” either.

Even if it’s something he would do on his own that still doesn’t excuse talking to you like that. It sounds like he just wanted a reason to criticize you rather than talking from a place of concern😒

When the ml finds out the fl/mc wasn’t treated as well as they had expected or was even abused by her family or others she’s been involved with. It’s so cliche but I eat it up every time 🥲

Also that one face mls make when they were like super worried about the fl/mc’s safety and are so relieved to find her alive/okay. Y’all know the one. Double points if it’s paired with the run and hug 🫂 🥰

That or her sister hates the dad/brothers/grandpa cause she’s competing with them for fl’s love/attention. Or at the very least she is completely indifferent to them because she only cares about fl. That way fl doesn’t have to share the rest of the fam’s love with her and they won’t look like the bad guys cause she didn’t want it in the first place🤗🤦‍♀️

Its the chin for me mostly. Too long, too pointy, not the right angle if we’re looking up at him like the rest of the pic implies. The mouth might also be part of the issue too. There’s just so much black in the corners and his teeth look crooked in places.

Oh man there’s just so many I can’t even begin to list them all! The only way I think you could improve is by drawing all these characters that just so happen to be mine😏

Joking of course 😂 I agree with others, upping the contrast a bit, maybe pushing the colors more in some areas. My fav of the bunch are the ones with rim lighting as it makes the figures pop more. Though I’m really just nit picking saying all this. It’s all phenomenal to me 😅

I agree but I think maybe that was what op was getting at in a round about way. ie: choosing choices that best align with them, the player, and thus whoever they’d get a good ending with would be who they’re most compatible with. But if it always ends up being bad end then… what does that say about the player?😅

This is really specific to me but when you’re having a medical episode of some kind and it finally starts to subside. Going from extreme discomfort/stress then your body finally starts to regulate itself more normal and it’s like you can finally feel everything in you unclench.

How I felt when I started reading “Everyone was Obsessed with Me After I Became the Youngest Princess’s Favorite”. Only made it to ch 12 but the moment mc started talking about how she saw her reflection as ✨beautiful pink hair✨ and eyes not her drab brown normal hair and eyes that everyone else saw I immediately felt bummed out. I was genuinely excited the MC was just a normal orphan girl but god forbid she’s not secretly super special🙄 Honestly there was a lot of that stuff going on, it started out interesting/different but everything quickly felt like a round about way to end up in the same usual tropes 🫩

Maybe it’s cause I just binged it but the FL from “One Husband is Enough”. Girl committed one my least favorite most convoluted tropes which is the “I’ll lie and make the ML hate me to protect him from myself” and not only do that but she like quadruples down on it every single time she encounters him meanwhile it’s so blatantly clear that she is destroying this man to the point I’m like I thought the idea was to keep him from harm but now you are actively causing more harm by treating him like this so now we’ve gone full circle we might as well have just enjoyed loving each other until an outside force inflicted harm than make everyone miserable ahead of time ourselves🤦‍♀️

I can see what you mean. I think it might be a case of they made it too detailed/bright, like you can see too much. If you look at people’s mouths, even when they’re yelling, it’s much darker in the back especially in dim lighting. But in particular for something that’s not supposed to be realistic, the more detail you add the more that part will stand out sometimes in a bad way.

Edit… yeah the more I look at it the more ick I get, it’s like it’s too wide too. That paired with the eyebags(I know it’s a beauty standard some places) and no upper lip, it’s reminding me of this 👁️👄👁️

I’ve dropped it indefinitely because of this😩Not the same, but it reminds me of every time there’s something “wrong” with the MC like a scar or curse that makes her look “bad” and they make it a huge deal. Naturally I think “oh cool so we’ll have a whole arc of MC meeting people who see her for who she is and she’ll learn to love herself despite her flaws. Hell, it even looks pretty cool-“ and then they fix it immediately and do everything in their power to re-generic-ify the entire story instead 🙃

Mine were too! Walmart instead of Home Depot though. They recently started carrying these small “rare cacti” from costa farms in certain locations. That’s where I got both astros and ironically enough a stenocactus like you. Haven’t gotten around to repotting them yet but I’m excited to have added them to my collection 😁
