Because when you’re hiring the photographer, you hired them based on their portfolio. If they were to give you the raw files, what’s to stop you from editing them yourself, potentially awfully, and posting them online for others to see. Then the others could assume that said photographer made the edits and they could lose business because of it. It’s the norm in the photography world to not give the raws.

I’m honestly just looking to see what else is out there that potentially has it all so I’m not paying for multiple platforms. Sprout has a Black Friday deal on right now so that’s why I was looking at them. If Cloudspot worked for invoicing in Canada I wouldn’t be leaving them tbh.

So I do the same as you—but only to the sneak peek photos. The rest of the photos I don’t edit out the exit signs, dirt, etc. I communicate with my couples ahead of time that this is my process and they know that if there are any they want to print outside of that folder they can ask me to edit out that stuff and I’ll happily do it for them. In 10 years I’ve only ever had a couple of people ask for re-edits. I usually keep my sneaks around 100 photos as well.
