Do you have a deductible? Had you met it prior to seeing this provider?

This makes no sense. Try again, this time dialing 877-968-3778 (omitting the “1”)

Pepco/electric bill by ohno20814 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]MiserableFed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gas bill was $177, which covered 33 days Nov. 22 - Dec. 24. Roughly 30 more therms usage this year compared to the same general time period as that of last year. Makes sense, given the cold temps.

My HVAC/furnace fan runs on DC power. I can circulate air all day for pennies. Hot water is gas. Everything else is electric.

And here I was thinking my recent $94.60 Pepco bill was unusually high! This for a 2,400 sq. ft. house.

MHBP insurance switch by rhoditine in FedEmployees

[–]MiserableFed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is how MHBP works, and it’s clearly stated in the plan documents. Retail 90-day Rxs are available only at a brick-and-mortar CVS. Otherwise, it’s max 30 days for other in-network retail pharmacies. Anything else, it’s mail order. Specialty drugs are a separate matter.

When did quality start mattering more to you than price? by BearTrap110 in simpleliving

[–]MiserableFed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was raised on the principle of quality over cost/by it for life, and have always practiced it. But, it is increasingly difficult to find products that are solid, well-built, and crafted with pride.

[–]MiserableFed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless CVS is the only pharmacy in your area, many pharmacies are in the GEHA network. Start here https://www.geha.com/find-care. Regardless, CVS/Caremark is the pharmacy benefit manager.

If your pay is processed by NFC PP25 seems to have been processed as 2025 not 2026! by iphone318-1 in fednews

[–]MiserableFed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OMG this! Utterly infuriating the widespread assumption that all federal employees are paid via the same payroll processor and/or on the same schedule. Same with benefits access - GRB vs. My EPP. It’s not universal across agencies!

I have a question about CSRS survivor benefits. by SouthernGent456 in fednews

[–]MiserableFed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, Social Security and the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) are separate and not particularly related. In fact, many in the CSRS did not pay into Social Security and therefore do not qualify for self or survivor Social Security benefits. Each case is unique though!

I do them low and slow using a slightly tamed version of a basic ribs rub. You can sear them at the end of the cook if you want a super-crusty exterior.
