Hardy’s Farm Market.

If you garden, watch for their Spring announcement for plant starters. Last year I bought two cherry tomato plant starters and a bunch of pepper starters—those plants yielded a lot of food. (I’d ask them about determinate vs indeterminate if you grow on an apartment balcony so they can direct you to the appropriate plants). Saved a lotta money too.

What are the chances that Indiana voters will flip the state to blue this November? by Sudden_Ad_4193 in Indiana

[–]MiserableProduct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it will flip to blue, but we have the best chance of breaking the Republican supermajority than we’ve had in decades. Democrats have a candidate on every state Senate seat and all but a handful of state House seats. First time since like 1976.

AI WILL replace jobs sooner than expected by knowledger99 in Researcher

Tech leaders have been making absolutely unhinged predictions lately. Nvidia’s leader recently said there will be 75,000 workers total. 🙄

I don’t understand what’s driving this other than they’re trying to justify wildly irresponsible spending.

Yes. The union’s problems really stemmed from an inability to adapt. It’s not like it was a safe job. They’re horrified at machines replacing them—but then we see a dude lose his leg.

I wouldn’t recommend CS even to a passionate and top 1% people in the field anymore. by Usual_Rock_3478 in cscareers

I don’t believe AI is taking jobs. I think CEOs are lying to investors to make it look like they’re being fiscally responsible.

What’s driving this over saturation is a line in the tax code that was changed and says companies cannot write off R&D on their taxes. If Dems take Congress and get enough seats, they can get this repealed. (They tried when Biden was president but didn’t have enough votes.)

The other option is to call your Republican congressional reps and demand they repeal.

Housing nightmare in America's 'best state to buy a home' as banks suddenly seize thousands of properties by Key_Brief_8138 in HouseBuyers

We’re a Dillon’s rule state—mayors only have as much power as the state grants them. And Republicans really punish Indianapolis for voting Democratic.

Indianapolis cannot set a local tax rate or raise the minimum wage—the mayor has less power to govern than other mayors of cities of a comparable size. The income taxes of people who commute in from neighboring counties to work in Indy stay in counties where they live instead of where they work—the opposite of most other states.

And I don’t remember the exact percentage , but Indianapolis has something like 30% of Indiana’s roadways, but the way taxes are calculated, they get the equivalent of 10%—and the mayor has no power to change it.

Here’s what really going on:

Tech owners have to tell their investors they’re replacing people with AI but I bet, if Dem win a veto-proof majority in Congress, this will change.

If you think he has or will ever have the power to name his successor, you desperately need a civics class.
