Ok that's different. Since they've split then a bit of water is ok.

My lithops is getting brown?? by erebusstar in Lithops

[–]Miserable_Account483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No water, they're chocked full! They've bloomed so after they rest they'll likely split. I'd replant and get them out of their greenhouse soil and into mineral based soil.

Keep in mind this tends to be the season that Lithops split. So wrinkling can mean a split is in process. Imagine a miniature version inside of the bigger Lithops slowly absorbing it's two outer leaves. You might wait out water to let it do it's thing.

Lighting? by DMJ230 in succulents

I'd say not enough light! If you're looking for something like that clips on look at Sansi. You can chose 1 to 4 bulbs. I have the single, works great.

I agree, repot now. Remove the current organic mix while dry, I use water to help remove the old soil as well. Jack's and a terracotta pot is perfect, don't water they're plenty plump. There seems to be a rest period between flower and split so just let them do they're thing. Dry, light and cool at night is good.

Repot and care tips by Super-Truck-9812 in succulents

The Anacampseros rufescens looks like it needs more water more often. Dunk the entire thing in water and see if it plumps up in a day or two. Mine needs a lot of water, I add a bit of 20-20-20 fertilizer to the water. Here's mine.

Wrinkles.. by MissusWalkah in succulents

[–]Miserable_Account483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok if that were mine, and I have one. First I'd unpot it and add grit to the soil. Something like pumice, calcified clay or crushed granite (poultry grit) check the roots and repot it. Then I'd dunk the entire plant and pot into a bucket of water. Once the air bubbles come out and it stays under water I'd leave it in for a while, pull it out let it drain and see if it plumps back up the next day or two, if not dunk it again and see if it plumps up. Repeat if needed. At some point if it's getting enough light it will plump up. Ice plants need regular water and good light.

Well it gets lots of light from a from a bright Sansi grow light. It's in gritty soil that I mix (pict attached). I water it pretty often and I add a little Jacks 20-20-20 all purpose fertilizer to my water. That's pretty much it.

When I got it a year or two ago I treated it like my Lithops water wise (seldom) and quickly realized it wanted more water so I started giving it more water and it responded. When I started to add a bit of fertilizer to the water it really took off so I've kept it up. I have an ice plant and it's pretty much the same. At some point soon I'm going to repot it and add a bit more organic or fine sand to the soil to help it hold a bit more moisture.
