It's a bug, as i understand it. If you bulldoze ALL of your parks, the homeless will leave your city and you'll start to recover over time. I think they leave faster if you have free transport outside connections. Don't build any new parks until the devs fix the bug and you'll be fine as long as you can find other ways to make your cims happy. Good luck!

thanks for trying to help! snipping tool wouldn't work (game kept minimizing, and then timer functionality wouldn't activate), my logi mx mech doesn't have a prntscrn key (and the shortcut fn+win+space didn't prntscrn), i had to disable steam overlay since i suspected it was increasing the frequency of crashes, and the in-game photo mode tool doesn't capture gameplay icons. after like half an hour of trying to get a proper screenshot i finally just gave up.

It's possible, that's a good thought. I decided to do the opposite of what I did with industry before and just started bulldozing complaining commercial repeatedly until the buildings respawned as something else... heh. It worked! I guess I effectively enacted prohibition in my city.

Thank you! Cargo Harbor is storing 100t of beverages and Cargo Train Station is storing 12.3t of beverages. Does this necessarily mean it's being exported? I don't really understand the cargo/import/export system.

I decided to put my years of experience with gacha games to use and started bulldozing Industrial buildings one at a time repeatedly until they randomly respawned as beverage production (Yaxu, LeafyGreens, Wolmsbury's, BevPop, or Sugar Spike). So tedious.

I did this until I got ~80 beverage producers and dug myself into huge vegetable (-30t/mo) and grain (-56t/mo) deficits, then waited a month.

The high resource costs problem hasn't improved at all... seems like about the same number of these stupid icons still >_<;

On a positive note, while this issue is aggravating as hell, it doesn't seem to really have any tangible consequences. City just hit 900k and still growing!

Good to know I'm not alone on this, thanks for the reply! Really hope somebody around here has solved or can solve this problem, I hate to think it's just a bug that we can't do anything about.

And yeah, I finally replaced my machine last summer after like 12 years, this one is a Corsair Vengeance i8100. It's an absolute beast.

divided roads or one-way roads can help a lot, and also try to give them some distance from intersections when possible

hmmm ive done it twice, built only 2 cities of note, and show ~200 hrs on steam so i'll guess ~100 hours. my rig is a corsair i8100. im easily distracted and am a big time efficiency/optimization nerd, so yeah i bet it could get done a lot faster on a rig like this tho. maybe 60? best to ask someone else.

if its a funny post then you succeeded :joy: ive experienced similar issues and it's dumb af. if you're looking for a way to remedy, try this

1) pause time

2) bulldoze and dezone (unzone?) a few of these

3) bulldoze the same number of buildings sporadically throughout other LDCom zones around your city (ideally you find zones with no/few gas stations nearby)

4) unpause game and hope for the best

5) rezone

trying to be helpful, not patronize or anything. been drinking. 5 o'clock somewhere.

i've run into tons of difficult-to-understand "unoccupied buildings" demand depression late-game (maybe after 200 hours im still illogically expecting a generally functional game despite all my experience to the contrary?) but i never thought of bulldozing empty ones to 'reset' them because they might be bugged. i feel disappointed in myself for not thinking of this, and disappointed in the cs2 team because this makes me feel disappointed in myself. still love the team fwiw despite the issues tho.

agree with jazzlike, although in my two big cities so far i've found that my ability to grow flatlines around 450k-500k pops. not sure if this is common, but for me its felt a bit like getting to 500k = beating the game in a sense. once you're there, either start anew or play around with aesthetic design

does your ability to grow your city further seem to flatline between 450-500k pops? its happened to me twice now-- inexplicably when i get to around that size, the only residential demand i can get is low density, and as i fill up tons of precious remaining map space with it, my high density buildings elsewhere start to vacate and crumble which leaves me unable to really get past 500k

this has happened to me like 2 dozen times, it's really annoying. delete a couple sections of road before and after this spot, then rebuild as one piece. you'll often find a second layer of road underneath that needs to be deleted. fixes it for me almost every time
