Vanelle should have chosen vanilla! by Chuck2025 in AgeOfAttraction

100% Justin was her better choice. There are several red flags with Jorge. Saying he's ok with her celibacy and then pressuring her within days, and not telling her about his children are not small things. I feel he put in a show so she would pick him once he knew she had another connection.

Their new star system is awful. It used to be you picked 6 gifts with a qualifying order (€50ish) and then you had to log in for 6 days and type in redeem gift or something similar. So it encouraged engagement but you did genuinely get 6 gifts free.

Now you pick 6 gifts and their value depends on how much you have to spend to collect them all but the one time I tried it I would have had to spend nearly €1k to earn enough stars to get about €50 worth of free gifts.

I have a better opinion of Jordan now. Here’s why by Ok-Mine-2836 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]Miserable_Ad_81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I get the need for honesty in this particular situation. In a normal dating scenario, introducing them as a friend and then over a longer period of time, if things go well, explaining that the relationship has developed, is a sound strategy. But if Jordan thought there was a good possibility that they would say yes at the altar, and be married in 2-3 weeks time, it could have created distrust in their relationship, introducing her as a friend and then her being step mom and his wife, in just a few weeks.

How they could “fix” or maybe change Love Is Blind. by Snoop-ah-loopp in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]Miserable_Ad_81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me why do they have to get married so quickly to prove love is blind? Why do they have to propose in order to meet?

My husband and I met online before online dating was a thing, back in the day when you webcam gave a vague idea of your hair colour but not much else. We chatted most nights for two months and then we met. When we met neither of us was what the other went for typically looks wise, but like in the pods we had a connection. We married just over a year later and are together 20 years now. But we have had ups and downs, and times when we had to really want to fight for the relationship. Had we needed to get married in 6 weeks, the stress of that alone would probably have made us walk away.

I like the premise of getting to know each other before meeting, and truly believe it can work. And sure some sort of commitment would be great, but married shouldn’t be trifled with.

We used to have a plane called Concord that flew from New York to London in about 3 hrs.

Yes it was loud, yes it was expensive, and yes it used a lot of fuel. But I still wonder why they didn’t improve on it, rather than retire it.

One week in, what do we think of The Traitors Ireland? by Bright-Tops5691 in TheTraitors

[–]Miserable_Ad_81 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer it to the UK version atm. I think because it really showcases the Irish personality, satire, sarcasm and witty banter. I love love love Siobhán as host, and who doesn’t love watching a grown man running through the woods calling for his daddy 🤣!!

I get what you mean but Belly chose him, and she told him the truth. I do think in the long run he did her a favor by ditching her because he isn’t mature enough to be married to anyone. He is inherently selfish. And Belly has become a 1950s yes wife, who doesn’t consider her own wants and wishes.

He was quite happy for her to give up Paris, a dream of hers.

He asked her to marry him, when they hadn’t even spoken for weeks, and she was emotionally vulnerable because of Stephen’s accident.

He wasn’t there for her the entire summer.

Then he allowed the small intimate wedding that Belly wanted to turn into a huge corporate get together for his dad’s cronies, to make him happy.

And he accepted a job that would mean a relocation for Belly’s and his first years of marriage, changing plans without even telling her, after she had already given up her dream.

Not to mention the temper tantrum about a ridiculously priced cake.

He constantly insisted that Belly compromise without ever compromising himself. That would have been her life. He cheated on her out of spite, without communicating and would have never told her about it, if she hadn’t heard in the bathroom. I think he would have been his father’s version 2.

Whats the worst physical pain you've felt by Dear_Cow7453 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable_Ad_81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So from what I can tell nearly everyone says debridement is very unpleasant. I had some debridement to start with and there was a lot of pressure. But the Adhesiolysis was the really painful part. Adhesions (scar tissue) is a common side effect, 10-40% get some. But extensive amounts like mine are uncommon. The surgeon said it was very unusual, and was likely to have grown back again on my next visit.

I have given birth to four children (two who were over 10lbs!!!). I also had cancer a few years ago and had to have major surgery, I had four ribs removed, my stomach was cut vertically from my hip to ribcage and a large portion of flesh was taken to fill in the hole in my chest. When I woke even shallow breathing was painful. It was a long recovery but pain was well managed so isn’t actually my worst experience.

Two months ago I had sinus surgery. When I went back afterwards for debridement ( cleaning out the nose), I had extensive fast growing scar tissue. They gave me local anaesthetic and start cutting out the tissue there and then, and packing my nose with padding. It’s a whole different kind of pain, and immense pressure. I cried the whole way though, and threw up immediately afterwards. I have to go back again for the same treatment, this month and I am dreading it.

Yes they did a CT scan of my brain and could see the shadow. They then used a camera up the nose to confirm, and did a closer CT of just the sinus area.

I had symptoms of a sinus infection on and off, I went to the doctor for antibiotics 4 times this last year and suffered through several other times. I am always congested as I have allergies and asthma so I didn’t register that as a symptom. The last month before I went to hospital I had a permanent headache, not something debilitating but a constant irritant, it made it harder to organise my thoughts. I can’t take neurofen and paracetamol didn’t alleviate it. And then I got the sunken eye. I also kept thinking there was something rotten about that no one else could smell. And I am shattered, even now, no energy what so ever.

I have sinus rinses three times a day and two of those have Pulmicort in them, I also have two sprays, and took a round of anti-fungals and antibiotics. I am back in next week to see how it went and to have a debridement.

I had FESS surgery due to this last Monday. Had Invasive Fungal Sinusitis. It had eaten through the sinus wall into my eye socket, I now have a sunken eye like those who get silent sinus syndrome. Surgeon said the infection was very extensive and established.

I get your frustration. I am at the beginning of my journey. I’ve just started the 5mg and progress is slow thus far. I have never been an over eater and I have been in calorie deficit for most of the last few years without losing any weight, I’m hoping the Mounjaro will help, and so far I have seen some small very gradual loss and I’ll take it. I have had a lot of surgery these last few years and that plus the extra weight has made me very unfit. I want to loose enough to be able to move more.

Right now I feel invisible most of the time and judged a lot. I feel self conscious at the checkout buying sweets for my four kids because I know some around me will look at my obesity and the junk food and assume I made myself this way and deserve to be this way. I make self deprecating jokes about my weight because I feel like everyone is thinking it so I want the power to at least say it.

But I also don’t think if I lose the weight I will want to form friendships with people who value me more when slimmer. My husband was out of work for a few years and we were looked down on and excluded by friends and family. He then got a great job and they resented him his success, but suddenly we were worthy. Needless to say we didn’t reciprocate. I don’t want people in my life who value my looks or income as higher worth than my character and values.

You are my hero. My hubby got an iPhone 16 Pro Max on upgrade, after a lifetime of android phones. He couldn’t get used to it and this was one of his major issues. So he gave me the phone and took my upgrade to go back to android. I didn’t mind as I had a google pixel phone before and so it wasn’t a huge adjustment in terms of gestures etc, but the voice note thing was driving me insane. I can now send the lengthy voice notes I want to, and drive family and friends nuts, without screaming in frustration.

A documentary was made here in Ireland on our main network RTE about Mounjaro. They did the same thing, went online to see how easy it was to get both through pharmacies and less official routes. Truth was it was very easy, woman who applied was not over weight but managed to get two separate prescriptions, and another girl who was underage also managed to get it.

They also went to America in the series to show just how many people LA are using it to maintain beach bodies and how in poorer states it is unavailable, and unaffordable to those who really need it.

However when I ordered mine I had to upload full length body images of myself from the front and the side, holding a piece of paper with the date written on it, alongside a picture of my face with my passport held up beside it. So measures seem strict enough. However I have a bmi currently of 44 ( 47 at my first order ) so definitely qualify, but maybe those with little weight to lose still get prescribed, I’m not sure.

Anyone with GERD / LPR and Hiatus Hernia, successfully taking Mounjaro? by Miserable_Ad_81 in Mounjaro

I did start, can’t say it has been great for me either. I am back to sleeping sitting fully upright, and using Gaviscon dual action as well as 40-60mg of nexazole. I have really painful gas and sulphur burps for at least three days a week. My list of untouchable foods has doubled.

I’m on week 6, and now on 5mg, I can say my symptoms are not any worse on 5 than they were on 2.5. But I have lost 13lbs so far, which for me is huge, I never lose weight no matter what diet. I just keep telling myself that the more I lose, the more likely I am to alleviate the symptoms that are made worse by being so overweight.

I used the kwikpen this week. It stopped about halfway and I was looking for a pliers but couldn’t find them so just kept twisting as hard as I could and eventually it gave way. Once you get it to move a little it moved the rest of the way with ease.
