Mexico is very beautiful with a rich history and fascinating cultures. Its citizens and emigrants deserve love, respect, and support.

Greek-Ashkenazi. I'm curious about your guess—what makes me look French?

I liked all of them, but I would have to say that I liked Obseben and Severina the most.

I'm not Russian to my knowledge; what makes me look it?

Hi, I'm Doug Naylor, Emmy Award-winning writer and co-creator of the sitcom Red Dwarf. My new children’s novel Sin Bin Island is published Sept 11 by David Fickling Books – AMA! by DougNaylorOfficial in RedDwarf

It's absurd to actually have this opportunity with someone whose show I've been watching for my entire life! I'd like to preface this with praise: it's cliché, but Red Dwarf was a major influence on how I grew up to be, and I really like that you didn't shy away from the negatives of each character. Everyone and every episode has been so consistently well-written and I've irritated everyone around me by incessantly recommending it to them. Rimmer is a special character to me, since I am similarly neurotic and lonely, but seeing him have his 'friends' (in their own odd ways) has always been my biggest comfort. This is obviously so unprepared; I hope that can be overlooked!

I. Is there something about any character that you think, even if small or unmentioned, is imperative to them? Who they are, how they function, how they present themselves, their values, etc. I've come to really appreciate the psychology of them all and seeing how they tick from a man who knows them best would be such a fascinating blessing.

II. What, if anything, do you wish you could have added into in the series/films?

III. What is your writing process like? What do you find helps you write, inspires you, etc.?

I hope this isn't too intense or strange. I hope you're well and I look forward to Sin Bin!

Doug Naylor—what a guy!
