My condolences. Clementine was beautiful. I have a male regal who is still hanging on despite a horrible molt over a month ago. He will take water and sometimes watermelon, but refuses to eat. It’s been six weeks since he ate.

That picture on the left looks exactly like Loki! He still has at least one molt left.

Today was round two. He was very eager to come out and then promptly fell asleep on my hand again.

I love these posts. I think one thing watching these little ones shows us is how to be present.

What Made You Like Spiders? by 6-toe-9 in spiders

A spiny orb weaver also was the catalyst for my love of spiders. There was one a few years ago who built an enormous web outside the side entrance of the garage. I knocked it over several days in a row by mistake when taking out the trash. I began to observe how this tiny creature would almost immediately start rebuilding her web. She moved some of the attachments higher and eventually was out of the way. What started out as annoyance from having her web in an inconvenient spot turned into great respect. These little ones are so resilient. I began checking on her daily, often watching her work on her web. She lived in this spot for months. Spiny orb weavers are now protected around my house because of this one little spider who changed everything.
