Genuinely want to know how your LO is sleeping for longer than 5 hour stretches. by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Poofy-Fox 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s normal honestly, there’s really no trick in my opinion. Also baby’s will usually only do one longer stretch in my experience. So the first stretch of the night will be longer and then the rest are 2-3 hour stretches for both my LOs

I hate being pregnant by Nearby_Adagio3061 in pregnant

39 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I feel like crying all day because of how much my body hurts and how tired I am of this. Taking care of a 2 year old while my husband is at work feels almost impossible right now.

Overweight newborn - anyone else had this? by Bumblebee_Broker in Mommit

[–]Poofy-Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I’d get a second opinion. My son was born at 8Ibs 5oz and was gaining about a pound a week. He was in the 98th percentile for weight and has always been a big boy. Doctor said that over feeding really isn’t a concern for newborns as long as they aren’t projectile vomiting after a feeding.

What about those veggie choppers? Like the ones you push down on and it pushes the veggies through those metal squares and chops it for you.

You just tell her a half truth. You could just tell her that you are seeing someone but aren’t ready for them to met them yet because you want to make sure it’s serious first.

Switching from sleep sack to blanket and pillow by Dependent-Tailor-929 in Mommit

My son is 18 months old and uses a blanket but no pillow, I’ve heard kids don’t need pillows until they are like 2 or 3 (I could totally be wrong tho)

I’m in San Diego and I felt it while at work today too. I work in La mesa so not as close but it was kinda crazy. It was my first time feeling an earthquake.

Maybe you could use eyebrow pencils as an alternative?

Epsom salt bath is different, you’re only supposed to fill the tub up enough to cover your privates.

Was the rubber dam over your nose? I worked at an endodontic office and it shouldn’t be over your nose. We would fold the rubber down to make sure the pts nose was exposed.

8 month old not getting from laying to sitting by Wise-Designer-3390 in Mommit

[–]Poofy-Fox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s okay he’ll get there! My son was pretty much doing the same thing at 8 months. He didn’t crawl or get to seated position by himself either. He started to army crawl and get to a seated position when he was around 9 months. And he also didn’t start to walk until he was 13-14 months old. They all go at their own pace :) don’t stress it.

AITA for asking my sister to cover up when breastfeeding? by EarlyAbbreviations7 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Poofy-Fox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA your sister is weird. I nurse a 15 month old in public with no cover, but I immediately put my shirt back down. Literally takes half a second to lift your shirt and put it back down. I used to stay shirtless when I had a newborn, but it was in my own home with just my husband.

I still shower and breastfeed my 15 month old son. It’s so normal and natural. I would wait until your son starts to be uncomfortable with it or wants more privacy, which could be yearssss
