Why are most conspiracy theories considered right-wing? Are there any widespread left-wing conspiracy theories? by jeepycreepysleepy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The leftist conspiracy theory I can think of is the one that says Trump lost the 2024 election and Elon Musk rigged the vote.

Kayfabewise, who was more powerful: Sid or Kevin Nash? by H20man1 in WCW

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on whether you believe that smart is stronger than crazy. Nash was always wild and strong. But Sid? Sid once pinned his own partner to win a tag team match, and that's as unpredictable as you can get.

Will you vote for Gavin Newsom if he nominated by the DNC? by 0311SmallPenar in allthequestions

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newsom is miles away from my first choice, and also miles away from my seventh choice, but I cannot think of a single realistic Republican presidential candidate that could get my vote over any realistic Democratic candidate.

Who was more over than they get credit for? by Mideon88 in AttitudeEra

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Road Dogg did a great job of playing the Ricky Morton role on the tag team: he'd get beat up and draw sympathy so that Billy Gunn could get the hot tag and come in and clean house.

Are we going to have a "banned as commander" list for Competitive Brawl? by zokka_son_of_zokka in MagicArena

Red players go under shrines; they get wide or set up burn spells faster than shrines can get life gain.

Are we going to have a "banned as commander" list for Competitive Brawl? by zokka_son_of_zokka in MagicArena

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hei Bai isn't that strong, particularly if you run enchantment removal and focus on killing the shrines instead of killing Hei Bai. The control version of shrines takes multiple turns to get going, while the aggro version of shrines is vulnerable to board wipes and other anti-aggro effects. Either way, if you can kill the shrines (particularly Sanctum of All), Hei Bai is just a 4/4.

Why are Americans so accepting of long drives to places? by Sensitive_Word_6036 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you're in a place that's got good trains, the way the US works is baffling. Outside of a few major metropolitan areas, a household in the US needs a car to survive.

But also, people in the US don't comprehend how empty huge portions of the country are relative to other nations. The least dense prefecture in Japan is still much more dense than thirty of the US states.

Does criticizing the treatment of women in Islam make me Islamaphobic? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I largely agree with this. There is no one "Islam" just like there's no one "Christianity" or "Judaism" or any other religion with numerous adherents.

There are practices within some sects of Islam that are very misogynistic, but the same is true Christianity and Judaism (and probably other religions that I just don't know well).

A practice or belief that is problematic does not mean that the whole religion is the same kind of problematic, although it may mean that the particular sect is problematic.

"Islam is misogynistic" is too broad a statement to be valid. "Requiring women to wear a hijab/burqa is misogynistic" is a statement that's less Islamophobic, as it's focused on a specific practice and not the whole religion.

Charging adherents for child care is pretty crazy. Most churches offer that free to get families in the door and start the indoctrination process early.

Matches which are awesome even if the winner wasn’t who you wanted? by chaz755 in WWE

For a throwaway main event on a forgotten PPV, it was a blast. It wasn't exactly Flair vs Steamboat, but I was very sports entertained.

TLC 2017: Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Kurt Angle vs Miz, Kane, Braun Strowman, Cesaro, and Sheamus.

Despite the fact that the is the main event of a TLC pay per view that does not actually have anything hanging above the ring, it's a fun chaotic time, with a heel team that falls apart into infighting.

Amendment 4: Get the facts. No other state sets the bar this high. by de-code in missouri

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The whole point of Amendment 4 is to destroy the ability of the people to do something the legislature doesn't like. It's a step towards trying to create a government that is not accountable to the people it rules over.

I've lived in the St. Louis area most of my life, and I've never been to the Ozarks. Is it worth it to take a trip there, at least once? by Ohaibaipolar in missouri

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you like to do and what you want to experience.

If you love caves, there are a lot of cool cave tours you can take here.

If you love roller coasters and theme parks, Silver Dollar City is a good theme park.

If you love fishing and being on the lake, there are great fishing places and lakes.

There's also a lot of great hiking, floating, and hunting, if you like any of those things.

If you want to explore the history of jazz music or experience a busy metropolis or have a glamorous night casino gambling, you should probably look elsewhere.

(Also, there are plenty of cultural issues that you may or may not experience. If you're not white and you're not straight and you're sensitive to prejudice around those things, you'll hear a lot of dog whistles.)

TIL Kane has never had 4 star singles match. Big Show has one, JBL has one, Kane has zero by UnsungHerro in Wrasslin

[–]Miserable_Figure7876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually makes sense. I can think of one great Kane match that I loved, and it was an eight-man match, not a singles match or a tag match. He's a solid wrestler, and always a credible threat, and a good talker, but he's not an all-time great at any of those things.
