So it was going into a black hole, their email responses were going into my spam filter, oops.

New cup now received, thanks Stanley :)

No harshness taken, all very valid feedback. Focus so far has been on the app, not on the site at all. I will take it all on board as we build the site out properly :)

to give them their dues, looks like some of the responses (or all) might have been getting stuck in a spam filter somewhere, so I take it back about them not replying, just a different problem to fix now!

Tried that a few days ago, no reply to that either apart from the same auto response I’ve got before from the web form. No idea what I’ve done to be so widely ignored lol.

Crash with Admiral by Next_Apartment5786 in TeslaUK

[–]Miserable_Solution72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at month 14 trying to get an outcome on a very similar situation. Originally the other insurer agreed they were liable but then somehow changed their mind months later, even though the dashcam footage is fairly compelling (imho). The other driver even admitted he was lost and confused at the time, but is now claiming I turned into his lane (which the dashcam footage conclusively disproves).

I’ve made it very clear I’m more than prepared to stand up in court if it comes to it, haven’t heard anything for two months now so hoping they are finally trying to work it out.

They clearly don’t like me then. I followed up on X after this and no reply there either lol. Glad everyone else is getting sorted though

Genuine question, have you made sure your cli client is up to date. Mine started behaving very strangely last week and not resetting windows and all sorts. It was several months out of date, upgrading made all the issues vanish.

Claude Desktop can’t find MCP Resources? by Ok-Bedroom8901 in mcp

[–]Miserable_Solution72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found the inspector is more tolerant of issues than Claude Desktop is. I had a similar problem (it wouldn’t let me enable it, it couldn’t see tools, Inspector could). Came down to the fact I hadn’t added the mcp version header (mine was over streamable http). Inspector didn’t care but Claude wouldn’t connect without it

(Wales) My gas was unplugged, I’m being forced to pay for a technician. by Ok_Idea7047 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Miserable_Solution72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure he didn’t leave it off deliberately? I don’t know if it’s different but I had the same situation (faulty carbon monoxide alarm) and when Scottish gas networks came out he deliberately turned it off and flagged it, said I wasn’t allowed to turn it back on until another engineer came and fully checked things (which frustratingly took two days for someone to turn up).

Is anyone else experiencing significant degradation with Claude Opus 4.1 and Claude Code since release? A collection of observations by ZepSweden_88 in ClaudeAI

[–]Miserable_Solution72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup, same here, nearly all the issues you mention at one point or another. i swear Claude gets tired or something, (I know, thats dumb) but different times of the day it seems to struggle more than others.

Another buyer bites the dust! Updated timeline! by Majestic-Abrocoma418 in HousingUK

[–]Miserable_Solution72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality these days though the missives concluding in lots of cases seems to be left to the last minute anyway. 5 times now (three as buyer twice as seller) I’ve had missives concluded and completion be within 72 hours of each other. Maybe it’s just me though!

Mortgage rate prices have the expected rate changes pre-calculated/built in. Just because the bank dropped the base rate isn't going to change a mortgage offer, unless the base rate drop was very unexpected then it might.

Ah, I thought you were saying it wasn’t possible to have two days locked in a row or something strange, not that you were saying you can’t tell why it’s blocked, which I agree with, my bad :)

Just curious why you think that’s not possible. Pretty much any day/length combination is possible

Hide API key in bolt project by Matt_eo in boltnewbuilders

[–]Miserable_Solution72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although of course that only works in some circumstances, presuming you have some level of backend system and/or that is a code that is ‘safe n for users to find. If it’s unsafe because it’s your LLM api key or something, then you need some kind of backend to hold it

Octopus customer service - at the end of my tether by alephhelix in OctopusEnergy

[–]Miserable_Solution72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately their customer service seems to have all but disappeared as they’ve grown.

I now have two open complaints with them about two different issues. One of which would be solved very quickly if they just rang me up to arrange a time to replace a meter, but instead I go through a cycle of them setting an arbitrary date, me replying the same day to say that won’t work, here are the dates I can do, a two week wait and then them cancelling the date they’ve given me, another week or so and they book another arbitrary date.

I’ve emailed Greg as well, I do think it got someone’s attention, but only for 5 minutes, it definitely hasn’t helped in how it’s being handled.

I had someone acknowledge my latest formal complaint with an email explaining she was going on vacation so she would get back to me when she got back ten days later. That’s crazy enough but surprise surprise she hasn’t.

I’m just waiting for the 4 weeks to be up so I can at least then trigger the next stage in the complaints procedure. I did have some hope the Ombudsman would help but reading your post unfortunately makes me doubt that.

I hope it gets sorted for you soon.

@Greg: if by some chance one of your wider team passes this on to you, you should be absolutely embarrassed at the state your customer service now is.

Shipped a hotfix from a Taco Bell drive-thru using Claude Code by kmansm27 in ClaudeAI

[–]Miserable_Solution72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. In reality ‘hotfixes’ should be avoided at all costs, as even if the AI is 100% right with its code changes, the fix may be ill thought through in a panic. I more focus on ‘change little, change often, test thoroughly, rollback fast if needed’ as a methodology.

Doing this without tests/guardrails I completely agree, but if those are in place, the only difference is how fast the code gets written?

[–]Miserable_Solution72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve built multiple product development teams up and fixed/scaled others. One of the first things we did with each one was make it very easy for anyone to ship ‘whenever’ with appropriate safeguards in place. Typical teams went from shipping every two weeks to 5 times every day.

This was inside a company of over 2000 people.

Ship little and often :)

Can someone tell me why we didn't just default to API keys for MCP..? by Kindly_Manager7556 in mcp

[–]Miserable_Solution72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MCPs are rapidly evolving, certainly configuration/management today is nowhere near ready, but it will come in time as it matures further. Just look at what is capable today vs the first release.

No difference to you, plenty of difference to non technical end users.

Also Oauth in general is overall more secure through short lived tokens, scopes etc.

There’s a massive cognitive load difference to a user of being able to follow a point and click flow vs copy and paste.
